We talked about all things faith and sustainability!

I couldnt help but sense an under current while talking about sustainability in the present political climate.

In 2023 we speak about green energy use, animal welfare, chemical free agriculture and overall kindness to the earth.

The under current is how much of all of that is virtue signalling from the privileged of humanity if we haven’t got the safety of human life prioritised?

If an eco-friendly, animal welfare aware, net zero seeking world is not calling for a permanent ceasefire 🇵🇸 then something is very wrong.

Kindness to humanity is a given if we see ourselves as custodians of the earth. How is sustainability to be implemented if the basic tenet of protecting human life is not sacred?

As I’m writing this I can’t believe I’m writing this. Know what I mean?

The first zabiha done on our Freerange-plus chicken.

It was emotional!

The halal industry only focuses on the last few minutes of an animals life ie the zabiha process (which has its complications to discuss for another time).

We look at the entire life of the animal before zabiha which involves the feed, the land, the breed the care and the price.

We are a business of course. And we believe in a modest mark up and reasonable pricing is also included in the definition of tayyib. The real cost of real food.

Hence Freerange-plus. The most affordable healthy tasty ethical halal chicken.

Remember we don’t sell any conventional meat and poultry otherwise we’d be part of the problem right?

We are almost sold out for this batch. Deliveries going out nationwide throughout next week.

Having been a passionate activist many years ago I really struggle with what seems like turning a blind eye and carrying on with our perfect little lives with first world problems.

History has seen the best of them. Pharaohs who thought they were Gods.

We have to trust in Allah swt that he has a huge reward for the ummah and a plan for the Palestinian people

For us we must do what we can in prayers charity and protest.

May Allah bless the Palestinian people for their resilience and bless and protect the families women and children so painful to see! 😭😭
