Pasta with cauliflower, garlic, crispy pancetta and parmesan

- Zuppa di Cozze

A rich seafood broth with mussels, octopus, king prawn, garlic, olive oil, a touch of tomato, parsley and our homemade Neapolitan chilly oil (o’ rruss).

Served with Italian fresella (twice-baked bread ring).

This is who makes Il Principe what it is today. 🩵

It’s hard to condense what everyone does into a single sentence, but we all want one thing: to make you feel at home. Whether you’re here for dinner, grabbing a takeaway, or just browsing the deli shelves.

As an independent, family-run deli and eatery, that warmth is in our DNA. It’s in the food, the space, and the way we do things.

Since adding tables a year ago, the energy has been unmatched. We even had a surprise visit from Jono Yates () purely through word of mouth - shoutout to Reddit users for the love!

The best part of this journey? Seeing you sit back, chat, and settle in over pizza and specials. We’re all about that casual dining energy. Homely vibes, but with the best pizza (and pasta) in Oxford. 😉

It’s like the spring cousin to Panettone - super soft, buttery, and topped with that signature almond sugar crunch.

They’re here! 🥧

Our Pastiere Napoletane are out of the oven and ready to delight.

We make these by hand every single year following our family’s recipe. It’s a long process, but it simply wouldn’t be Easter without them!

Wondering what a Pastiera is?

It’s a traditional Neapolitan pie made with creamy ricotta, cooked wheat, and candied citrus, with orange blossom essence.

Our Zeppole di San Giuseppe are here!

If you’ve never tried one, you’re in for a treat. They’re soft, golden pastry shells filled with cream and topped with an Amarena cherry.
