It’s been an incredibly busy morning at The Country Larder — thank you to everyone who’s already been in! ❤️

But don’t worry… we’re still stocked up and ready for a busy afternoon! 💪

🧄🧈 IT’S A TOUGH JOB… BUT SOMEBODY HAS TO DO IT 😂

Sarah & Ade from The Gourmet Butter Company asked us to carry out some very important product research today…

A blind taste test of four different garlic butters.

Sarah prepared four numbered samples and she was the ONLY person who knew what was actually in each pot. The rest of us had absolutely no idea what we were tasting.

Crackers at the ready, we tried all four and ranked them purely on taste.

The results…

🥇 No. 4 - Actually tasted like garlic!!
🥈 No. 1 - A hint of garlic
🥉 No. 3 - Not convinced it had any garlic
4️⃣ No. 2 - Was simply awful

And No. 4 was the clear winner! 🏆🧄🧈

We still don’t know what we’ve actually voted for, so we’re now waiting for the big reveal. 😂

This is exactly what we love about working with brilliant small producers. We actually get to know the people behind the products, give feedback and occasionally get handed four tubs of garlic butter and told to eat them. It’s a hard life. 😂

We’re heading up to stock up but we’ve been out all day in the heat picking up stock and unloading deliveries and to be honest we’re cream crackered in this heat!

There’s been an accident where Hamelin Way meets the South Devon Highway.

It doesn’t affect access to us here at The Country Larder, but if you’re commuting towards Exeter this morning, you’ll want to allow extra time and find an alternative route if possible.
