The Applegarth team travelled to the beautiful Mirehouse and Gardens, Bassenthwaite to provide catering for John and Beverley’s wedding vow renewal. Whilst it was a cooler day, guests still managed to enjoy drinks and canapés in the garden before sitting down to a two course luncheon followed by coffee and cake.

The Applegarth team were local yesterday providing an afternoon tea for newly weds Amy and Harry. The weather held and family and friends enjoyed the backdrop of the beautiful surroundings of the Eden Valley family home.

What a wonderful way to spend a birthday weekend!

Yesterday the ApplegarthFoods team had the pleasure of catering for two special celebrations: a 95th birthday lunch for a lovely lady in Brampton and a 70th birthday buffet aboard the steamer at Glenridding. We would like to thank both families for choosing Applegarth Foods to be part of such important occasions.

We have been overwhelmed by the lovely feedback received following both events, multiple compliments about the lunch and desserts with guests describing the buffet as “the best buffet I’ve ever seen”, while another commented that the gluten-free selection was “exquisite”. Perhaps our favourite comment of all came from one of the younger guests, who declared, “Grandma, your party food is the best!”

A huge thank you must also go to my fantastic team, who worked incredibly hard to deliver two very different events on the same day. Your commitment, flexibility and good humour never go unnoticed, and I hope the mug of Prosecco with our late lunch (because we do not always get to eat) went some way to show my appreciation.

On a personal note, thank you to everyone who sent birthday wishes over the weekend, they were very much appreciated when I finally finished work and had an opportunity to read them. 💚🍏💚

Penrith Young Farmers have demonstrated for the past two years (sometimes in extremely challenging circumstances) their ability to organise events for their community such as the Penrith Bonfire, Big Breakfasts and Penrith Rally. What a weekend it has been for the Applegarth team……. preparing for sponsorship suppers for Cumbria Young Farmers 3 Peaks Challenge and a 70th birthday lunch today.

Saturday 11pm - having successfully climbed Scar Fell, Cumbria YFC were provided with lasagne, wedges, homemade coleslaw followed by a cake selection before heading to Snowdon for their final peak, which they successfully completed at 5am this morning, well done 👏.

Today has been a privilege to provide our catering services for one of the best in the business ! At a beautiful location, guests were provided with a 7 course lunch tailor made by the birthday girl herself.

What a fabulous day with so many guests having fond memories of having caterered at this beautiful venue some many’s years ago.

Applegarth Foods are pleased to be supporting the Cumbria Young Farmers 3 Peaks in 24 Hours Challenge by being one of the event sponsors providing bottled water, breakfast raw materials and ‘supper’ on Saturday evening.

Tomorrow on Saturday 11th July, a team of 30 Cumbria YFC members will take on the incredible challenge of climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon within just 24 hours.

It's a remarkable test of determination, resilience and teamwork – qualities that are at the heart of our farming community and the next generation who will help shape the future of our rural industries.

The challenge is raising funds for Cumbria Young Farmers' Clubs and Mountain Rescue England and Wales supporting both rural young people and the dedicated volunteers who provide such a vital emergency service in our countryside.

Wishing all those taking part the best of luck and hope they have a safe and enjoyable climbing weekend.

It’s been a warm working weekend for the Applegarth ladies again ….
A corporate lunch at Braithwaite yesterday followed by an evening wedding reception at Watermillock and today we have been on the opposite side of lake Ullswater near Howtown catering for an 80th birthday luncheon.

It’s been a challenge with the heat today and I thank my team as always for making it all happen.

Today’s backdrop absolutely stunning, and right on the doorstep.
