❤️ A little thought as we head towards Christmas… 🎄

Whether you follow us for our monthly Perth Farmers’ Market or you’re looking forward to our Festive Market in Perth City Centre, we’d love to ask you one little favour this Christmas.

Please remember the people behind the stalls. ❤️

The familiar faces who greet you with a smile, who love chatting about what they’ve made, grown, baked or produced. The people who remember their regular customers and genuinely appreciate every single purchase.

Behind every stall is a person, often a whole family, working incredibly hard to make their little business a success.

They’re not huge corporations. They’re mums, dads, friends and neighbours. They’re the farmers tending to their animals in all weathers, the bakers up before dawn and the makers spending hours creating something special with their own hands.

And when you buy from them, it really does mean something. ❤️

That loaf of bread, jar of jam, handmade gift or joint of meat might seem like a small purchase to you, but to the person behind the stall, it means the world.

It means you’ve chosen them. You’ve appreciated their hard work. You’ve helped them keep doing what they love.

We’re simply asking that, when you can, you think of our lovely local traders.

Perhaps one Christmas gift could come from a local maker? Maybe something for your festive table could come from a local farmer? Even recommending a trader to a friend or sharing their social media page makes a difference.

🌟 THE TEAM BEHIND THE MARKET 🌟

You see the stalls. You see the traders. You see the buzz of the market…

But what you don’t see is the team who make it all happen — long before most of you are even awake! 👏

A huge shoutout to Andy, who brings all our stalls from storage to South Inch Car Park, and to our amazing stall team, who are up early and out in all weathers getting everything set up and ready for our traders to arrive.

🌧️ Rain? They’re there.
🌙 Dark? They’re there.
🥶 Cold mornings? They’re there.
☀️ Sunshine? They’re there too!

While the rest of us are still tucked up in bed, they’re busy making sure that by the time you arrive, the market is ready to go.

It takes a TEAM to bring you our fantastic farmers’ market, and we couldn’t do it without them. ❤️

So today, while you’re enjoying the market, take a moment to appreciate the people working behind the scenes.

🌟 WOWEEEE! 🌟

We have welcomed a huge number of new followers over the last month, so we thought it was probably time for a wee introduction! 👋💚

So, who are we? 👀

We’re Perth Farmers’ Market, and every month we bring around 45 amazing traders together at South Inch Car Park in Perth, where they showcase their makes, bakes and produce for all you wonderful customers. 🥕🥖🍰

You’ll find everything from organic vegetables, fresh bread and meat from the farmers themselves, to cakes, honey, jewellery, local w**e, gin and plenty more besides. 🍯🥩🍷💍

But here’s the really important bit…

🌱 Our traders actually make, grow, bake, rear or produce what they sell.

That’s one of the things that makes our market special. When you wander around our stalls, you’re not just buying a product, you’re meeting the people who quite literally made what’s sitting in front of you. ❤️

And we’re incredibly proud that more than half of our regular traders are Perthshire businesses, while our whole market team is also based right here in Perthshire.

But what about the people behind the market? 👇

Perth Farmers’ Market is run by a board of volunteers who give their time to help keep the market moving in the right direction. Alongside them, we have our wonderful Market Coordinator Yvonne, our tremendous stall team, the man with the pulling power to get those stalls exactly where they need to be 💪😂, and our lovely bookkeeper Emma, keeping everything behind the scenes in order.

It really does take a whole team! ❤️

And that team works hard to make sure the market stays true to the ethics and principles it was first built on 27 years ago. supporting genuine producers, championing local businesses and giving customers the chance to meet the people behind the products they buy.

For us, it’s all about supporting local wherever we can, keeping money within our local economy, championing independent producers and creating a market where producers and customers can actually connect.

So whether you’ve been coming to the market for years, or you’ve only just found us…
