Description:

We are currently looking to hire for a position on a family run delicatessen stall based in market.

The Market Deli is a traditional delicatessen business which has been in Plymouth market for over 50 years.

The role of the job includes:

opening and setting up of the deli including use of a cold meat slicer and closing the shop

serving customers

using scales

good understanding of food&hygiene

working as part of a team

handling cash and use of a card machine

cleaning

taking in deliveries from suppliers

Hours avaliable

TUESDAY 7.15-11.15

WEDNESDAY 7-3.30

THURSDAY 7-10.30

FRIDAY 7-10.30

SATURDAY 7-4 with alternate Saturdays off.

4 WEEKS ANNUAL HOLIDAY (pro rata)

PAY RATE - £12.71 Per Hour

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a busy, friendly, and sociable environment. The role offers the opportunity to complete an apprenticeship, while gaining valuable retail experience and learning how a successful business operates. An excellent opportunity for someone who is motivated, eager to learn, and looking to build a career.

Hours
Tuesday, Wednesday, Fridays 7am- 4pm Thursdays 7am- 2pm Saturdays 11am- 4pm
39 hours a week

Pay rate : £8 per hour

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

Serving customers and using the experience to speak with members of the general public and there needs
Learning how to use a slicer and setting up the stall on a daily basis
Understanding how to use a cash register and use of a card machine
Learning how to use different machinery, including a vacuum packer
Learning stock control and speaking to suppliers, ordering of stock
Cleaning and keeping the shop front in a good and tidy order
Learning routines and measures to help maintain our 5* hygiene score
Use a range of questioning skills, including listening and responding in a way that builds rapport, determines customer needs and expectations and achieves positive engagement and delivery
