🌞 Summer Family Forest School is back this summer!

Looking for something different to do with the children during the holidays? Join us at The Little Lounge Allotment for six weeks of outdoor adventures, nature crafts, campfire snacks, exploring, playing and making memories together.

Whether your child loves digging, creating, discovering bugs, playing in the mud kitchen or simply being outdoors, there’s something new to enjoy each week.

🎖️As we come to the end of Volunteers' Week we want to take a moment to give a huge shout out to our incredible volunteer team! 🎖️

Our volunteers do so much, often behind the scenes; Tesco collections twice a week, Makro collections weekly, KFC collections. Crafts, resources, gardening, maintenance, admin, finances, serving customers, prepping food & drinks, speaking to visitors, the list goes on! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Each of you are such a blessing to our community! 🫶🏼 Thank you SO much for all you do!! 🤜🏼🤛🏽

They really are an incredible crowd of dedicated local people who want to do something positive in our community 🫶🏼

This post is dedicated to our Outdoor Gardening team! 🌿 Coordinated by our wonderful Michelle, they keep both our Basement Garden and our Allotment safe and beautiful for everyone to use! 👏🏽👏🏽

🌿 Could You Spare a Couple of Hours on a Tuesday?

We’re looking for adult volunteers to join us at the Little Lounge Allotment Garden every Tuesday from 12:30pm–2:30pm.

This isn’t just about gardening. It’s about helping create a welcoming outdoor space where local people can connect with nature, children can learn through Forest School, and the community can come together.

There’s something for everyone, including:
🌱 Planting and watering
🌿 Weeding and tidying
🍓 Harvesting fruit and vegetables
🪵 Simple maintenance jobs
☕ Tea, coffee and a friendly chat

No experience is needed—just a willingness to get involved and enjoy some time outdoors.

💚 Volunteering is a great way to:
✔ Meet new people
✔ Get fresh air and gentle exercise
✔ Learn new skills
✔ Support your local community
✔ Be part of something growing in Cilfynydd

Whether you can come every week or just occasionally, we’d love to hear from you.

🧡 It’s been great to see lots of young people sharing their ideas with us today for a funding application! 🙌🏽

I’ll be honest; it’s lush to get their ideas, but it’s devastating when we’ve had them share their ideas but we fail to secure the funding 😔 We work so hard behind the scenes to apply for money to stay open - When we get rejected it feels personal! It’s worse when I feel that we’ve raised kids’ hopes then we can’t deliver what we’ve suggested 💔
