We feel it is extremely important as farmers to not only do the best by our livestock but also by nature!

There is nothing more enjoyable than an evening walk through the fields, the wildlife here is simply unbelievable. We have traditional meadow pastures full of clover and wild flowers and plenty of hedgerows which are homes for many different species of wildlife.

We would like to take the opportunity to thank new and existing customers, we have had another busy week in the shop so apologies for been quiet on social media, we are so grateful to you all. This week there has been progression on our concrete driveway and fencing towards the shop.. all systems go ๐Ÿ™Œ

You can also find additional products in our shop, as ever all sourced locally. These include Berry Lane Bakery bread, Derby Hill butter and milk, Singletons cheese and last but not least Wallings icecream (1L tubs) ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ˜‹

Good evening everyone, we thought we'd give you a glance into the store lamb side of our business. We sell our own home bred lambs through the shop however around October time we buy additional lambs, usually from hill farms. Last year we bought a lot of lambs from Scotland, prominently Scotch Blackface sheep which are a slow maturing hill lamb. We've been selling them for the last month at various auctions and sold some yesterday at NWA J36.

You may notice a new face on the scene, this is Cohen who is with us on work experience for the week ๐Ÿ™‚ he's been a good help and has been learning all aspects of the industry ๐Ÿ‘

We definitely need to encourage more young people into this industry to keep farmers and butchers on the map ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ“

Good evening everybody. Well what can we say other than a huge thank you to all our cusutomers new and existing! You have certainly kept us busy which is just amazing ๐Ÿ™Œ after a hectic week in our butchers shop alongside farming, today we took the time to visit Henry Clegg our egg supplier Cleggโ€™s Eggs. He is a young farmer setting out on his agricultural venture and we support him 100%!! Henry's hens have fantastic welfare, plenty of enrichment and a nutrient rich diet all contributed to the production of his high quality eggs and virtually zero food miles. You can't get better than that ๐Ÿ‘Œ

While we were there we also met some new additions which may be joining us in the near future for breeding purposes ๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿฎ

Good evening everyone, the sun is shining and the lambs are bouncing ๐Ÿ‘ just how we like it. Can't get much more local than Moss Side lamb reared on our fields surrounding our shop. Our livestock are farmed with compassion and we take great pride in that ๐Ÿ‘Œ it's so important to know and understand where our food comes from!!

A few of our customers have been helping us on lamb feeding juties too ๐Ÿ™ˆ so if you feel this is something you'd enjoy then feel free to ask in the shop ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜Š

The lambs are thriving, once turned out onto the field we like to continue to feed the ewes ensuring their milk production is the optimum it can be! After all if we don't take care of the ladies we can't expect them to maintain good condition whilst rearing their lambs.

These lambs are a long way off been in the shop, they will remain on their mother's until weaning and grow on thoughout the year. We prefer to use hogget for as long as we can as we feel there is more flavour. We still have our own hogget available until mid June then we will switch to spring lamb ๐Ÿ‘

Good evening everybody! Well what can we say it's been all systems go here with lambing and the butchers this last week or so, hence why we've been quiet on the posting front. Just a quick post to let all customers know that Moss Side Lane is now completely passable however the road closed signs are still up at the end of the road ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ this is causing some confusion but please be assured there is access down the road so no need to follow the diversion ๐Ÿ‘
