Opportunities…

It’s Wednesday and we are back for another fun packed week!

We have the gorgeous asparagus in from Slade Farm Rogate so please do come and grab this delight now in season. The tomato season has well and truly started from Nutbourne Nursery Ltd and we are stocked up.

Kevin and Christine at Beneficial Health had a great start last week and the shop was so busy with customers delighted to see their return.

We are trialing a new tin from Organic Kitchen so, for every tin purchased in the shop, you can take a tin of mixed beans or tomato and basil soup absolutely free of charge.

Finally, despite the road closure for the next week or so, we have decided to see it as an opportunity to get up-to-date with all the stock refills, pricing, labelling. You are still able to get to the shop from the south via Rectory Lane, Glebelands or Broomers Hill - just potentially leave a few minutes extra for your journey. (mine took exactly the same time this morning!)

Open until Saturday this week 9am-3pm. Plenty of parking available.

Journeys…

Since we set up in 2019 The Greenhouse, Pulborough has gone through so many changes in response to an ever changing world. And with the shop changes I have changed so much too.

I have realised that in the past when decisions needed to be made it can feel overwhelming to make the right decision. I’m great in a crisis and when the pressure is on (!) but given a bit more time to consider all the options I felt the fear of making the wrong decision.

However I’m starting to feel that there is no wrong decision - just the next step forward - however small.

And therefore with Beneficial Health moving in next door it feels like the shop and I have turned a page and started a new chapter…

You know us… we love a move around at The Greenhouse, 😆

So in Greenhouse fashion we’ve moved all the loose nuts, sugar, dried fruit and baking goods to the centre of the shop and it’s working a treat.

But, more importantly, we are delighted to announce that Health are moving next door - opening their doors on the 15th April at 10am.

Exciting times ahead… ❤️

Nutbourne Nursery Ltd tomatoes are back!! I know this will be music to everyone’s ears. We have cherry vine in this week with other varieties, including classic and heritage to follow in future weeks.

Food waste collections start this month for properties in and Chichester District Council . We have you covered with fully compostable replacement bags. In true Greenhouse style you can purchase one (15p) or a pack of 25 (£3.25). They are 8 litre in size so perfect for fitting your bins with plenty to fold over and tie up.

Who’s moving in next door?

We have a new neighbour moving in and opening next month - we are so excited to introduce them to you… in due course!

After two years away Lorna is back during the week helping with the socials and getting the shop online this year.

Sarah is in every Friday and keeps things on an even keel financially and is generally the voice of reason in all decisions around the shop.

The spring edition of Hedgerow Magazine launched this month and with it the new website hedgerowmagazine.co.uk which hosts a business directory of all our lovely advertisers.

It’s been a great few months and lots to look forward to. ❤️

I’m back (!) and looking forward to the new energy of 2026.

I’ll be reorganising the shop today so if you are after some bargains we have 50% of the final Angela Harding calendars - if you would like me to put one by then please let me know (I’ve already sold one this morning) - and 20% off some other stock items for January including all the Playpress toys.

If you are heading out please be careful as the ice is deceptive and if you do visit in the next few days please be cautious in our car park until it thaws.

We are fully stocked with refill items so look forward to seeing you.

We are finished for the year and now it feels good to be at home to spend time with family.

This Christmas Eve Christmas socks are on and wrapping presents is the last job of the day with a cheeky glass of wine.

I wanted to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and hope you get to spend time with friends and family.

The shop has been so well supported this year and I am extremely grateful for all of you that continue to shop with us and share the belief that even small steps can only be good for the environment.

We are back open on the 2nd January so I look forward to seeing you all then.

We have some bread available including baps, fruit & veg and eggs.

We are offering 20% off all playpress and games, 20% off the few Angela Harding calendars left (one in each size) and 20% off traditional and chocolate panforte (great last minute stocking fillers.

A few short rolls of wrapping paper and recycled paper tape…

You can’t go wrong with socks - striped or plain in sizes 4-7 and 8-11.

We also have some great journals to start 2026 off with. Plain with beautiful covers or guided ones for running, walking, gardening and reading.
