We’ve expanded our laying flock!

More chickens = more eggs!

Tag a restaurant or other business in the comments you would like to see serving pasture raised chicken eggs on their menu!

We believe our eggs are the best with no other farm selling truly regenerative, pastured eggs around! Our hens are moved onto new pasture every other day to allow them access to the freshest ground with all the bugs and herbal plants they need to produce our extra special eggs!

Massive thank you to everyone who came down to our little market garden yesterday to celebrate ‘s national open farm Sunday! We are absolutely blown away by the support and encouragement from our local community, customers, friends and family!
This business would not survive without you all and we are so lucky to be able to work the soil and bring to you our veg, fruit and eggs! We are still very young and new but every year we are trying our best to do more and get more people out involved.
This event would have not been possible with out the following key people who turn up every single time to lend their love, time and passion. We are forever grateful! .vewaters and Bram!
See you all next year! Bigger and better!

It’s really tricky at the moment. Do we plant out seedlings then try to keep them all watered in the field or do we keep them in the propagation trailer so they can be looked after more easily?

We’ve gone for the latter. With the weather cooling down slightly this week and I are going to get the beans and sweetcorn out in their final position in the brand new beds we built last week.

It’s still hot and it’s tricky getting water to where it’s needed with low pressure.

As you can see from the photo everything is romping away and we need to free up space for our (believe it or not) sowings for WINTER brassicas.

They’ve reached the end of the field… now to go back round it! Happy chickens enjoying their best pastured life! No smoke and mirrors here, just great regen livestock practices.

This week we started and finished building all 99 beds for the 2.0 expansion. The garden now sits on 1.25 acres and we hope that this additional growing space will help by containing mainly brassicas and roots so we can provide a consistent supply of broccolis, cabbages, broad beans, French beans, sweet corn and parsnips. These will be sowed over the next couple of weeks.

In addition to the veg beds, we also built 30 8m beds for our cut flower enterprise that will be trialed this summer. On board is who will be leading this exciting new thing!

Big thank you to Dad who was jumping on and off the tractor for the last three days helping make these. It’s not easy work I can assure you! And who worked today and whose idea it was to do this cool time lapse!

New season asparagus always brings vigor and flavour after a long winter. We bought our organic crowns 4 years ago, they had a good heavy mulch feed last autumn and are back for the best year yet!

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you immensely for your support and willingness to spend your hard earned money on locally grown veg, grown by local people.

We know that this is a profound choice and you have gone out of your way to divert from the supermarkets we are conditioned to rely on and are using us for your weekly veg.

This was our first year running the subscription system and it hasn’t been without its quirks as you all know but we have learnt A LOT! Thank you for persisting through and we hope you have enjoyed what you have received.

The main purpose of this email is inform you that we are ceasing our subscription boxes for the remainder of 2025. There is only one reason for the decision and it isn’t ours! You have quite simply, eaten everything!

There is not enough range and quantity remaining in our garden to fill a box to the required level.

However, this is not all doom and gloom! You can still browse our remaining range and order our bespoke boxes which are delivered next day, Monday to Saturday. Order here: www.roundthefield.co.uk
