We’re frequently asked about our opening hours, so we’ve popped a temporary sign in the window — but for our Facebook followers, our current shop opening times are:

🕘 Weekdays: 09:00 – 18:00
🕘 Saturday: 09:00 – 17:00
🕙 Sunday: 10:00 – 16:00

Please note that official Post Office opening hours remain as listed on the Post Office website. However, whenever we have trained Post Office staff available in store, we’ll always do our best to help with your postal needs where possible.

Voting has been open since February but we only just found our little shop was missed off the list so we have a little bit of catching up to do…

🚨🚨🚨 SERVICE UPDATE 🚨🚨🚨

We’re all green!…

Apologies to everyone for the disruption to Evie Post Office services caused by the 4G outage. We finally have a working 4G connection at the new Mistra Store allowing us to get the Post Office back up and running again.

From today we will have been back to fully operational and all going well, this should continue for the foreseeable future. Thank you everyone for your patience and understanding while we tried to offer a reduced service.

A huge thank you for the support and patience you have shown us as we find our feet with running not only the new shop but now also a cafe.

We are working on building a full menu, so far the Scotch eggs and Chicken and Pork pies have been a hit but this weekend we have our take on a Macaroni pie - some locally foraged wild garlic and roasted butternut squash topped with macaroni cheese and wrapped in a crispy veg suet pastry with an added dash of wild garlic and hazelnut pesto if you sit in. Available on a limited run!

Currently - we have coffee and cake available for takeaway or sit in all week and hope to have the savoury side sorted for May but meanwhile you can still get the usual takeaway food from the fridge.

Thank you all for the kind words about the new shop and the cakes - it really makes it all worthwhile and is always appreciated.

We will keep trying to make Evie proud and aiming to be

🚨 SERVICE UPDATE - POST OFFICE🚨

Due to continued delays in getting back up and running, we have decided to relocate the Post Office back to the old shop for a couple of days. We will however be operating reduced hours as we do not have enough staff to operate both sites simultaneously.

As such we will be open today and tomorrow from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. for anyone who need postal or banking services. Finstown Post Office is open Thursday-Saturday if you need these services after tomorrow.

Apologies again for the inconvenience - hopefully normal service will be resumed soon.

Here’s a sneaky peek 🫣 of things to come…

EDIT: All sold I’m afraid. Next round of R&D starts on Monday

We’re not quite ready with the full menu but we are working on some items likely to make it into the menu when the tearoom starts serving food. The first Mistra Made dishes will include these delicious Pork Pies made chucks of Williamson’s pork shoulder in a hand made hot water pastry. There’s also an alternative version with pork & chicken and we have a couple of soups we have been trying out too.

This weekend we will have a few to take away or for sitting in but unfortunately in very limited numbers.

🚨🚨 SERVICE DISRUPTION🚨🚨

Our Post Office system is currently offline due to to 4G mast outage and is likely to be for some time. This is largely outwith our control so we are looking into options to provide a reduced service. For now however please visit Dounby or Finstown Post Offices until we can get back online.
