Leo showing off the merch (mummy it’s a bit big…!) featuring the epic . We always recommend this campsite to people passing through the village but Jen and Neil, the new owners, have put in a major upgrade over the winter and it’s looking stunning. Seriously, tell all your summer visitors about it!

BBQ season is coming my friends! And so are the boys from

Our first night will be Wednesday 3rd June and we’re almost fully booked for tables. With plates filled with 14 hour smoked meats and a load of sides, this is going to be a big one!

We do have a few tables left so get in touch if you want to snap one up. And if you miss out then do not worry, they’ll be doing takeaways too - you just need to get in touch with the guys to preorder.

If you’re running or supporting a runner in the Purple Gecko Events group Coast to Coast Copper Trail tomorrow then pop along for some early morning fuel! We’re here from 8am with coffee, brekkie and cake - not condoning this kind of behaviour but you could definitely drop your runner off at the start, have a quick fry up then still make it to the other side ready for them to finish 🤣 See you in the morning!

Well that’s it - year one done!

We want to thank every single one of you that has walked through our doors this year. Honestly thank you for giving us a try, we hope you got a sense of what we’re building here - a community that just so happens to also be a café ☺️

There are a few people that we want to make a special mention to though:
Our weekday morning crew, there with us as we open the door, every day, come rain or shine
The keep fit girls (and boys), can’t see how they squeeze any fitness in around all the chat but oh we do have a laugh!
Our friend Arthur who visits every day aside from his several holidays a year.
The Saturday breakfast club
Our monthly wine clubbers
The Patch crew - helpers, mums and our tiny mates
Our parents, brothers, sisters, nieces & nephews who are our biggest cheerleaders, supporters and babysitters!
And most of all, the crew. We love you guys, thank you for putting on your smiles and giving it your best.

The menu in our little Portreath cafe changes regularly just to stop you getting bored, with a few favourites that have become permanent fixtures. We try to go with what’s good at the moment - both in season and good value for you. We make as much as we possibly can ourselves and use our favourite local suppliers. Mostly we put a lot of love into it all, every day!

I know I keep banging on about being a family business but, really is this not proof? These two monkeys helped dig up these beauties from grandad’s garden this week and they went straight into our potato salad (didn’t get a photo cos you all ate it too quickly). Hope there’s more in there grandad. Also very excited for the crop of the worlds best tomatoes 🍅 watch this space

Ok yes it’s freezing and the wind has been howling all night long and it did rain while I took this BUT we have local strawberries so all is not lost!
They won’t last long so come grab a punnet. Delish.
Plus a few of Immy’s posies left. The perfect way to brighten up someone’s day.
