Our good friend, Codnor resident Stuart Colebrook, has had his book published today.
Victorian News Stories from Ripley, Heanor and Surrounding towns and villages.
It’s been a labour of love for Stuart, but should also be of interest to people from the local area.
Available from The Codnor Inn, and the new book shop in Heanor.
If any of my friends are interested I can get Stuart to drop me a few copies off

Hi everyone. I apologise for using this platform for my own needs…
This is Chris… I will be starting a new venture at the beginning of March.

A message from Arthur…

Well that is it folks, 59 and a bit years.It has been a honour and a pleasure serving customers from Codnor and surrounding areas and also many from much further afield. It has been quite humbling to read the many cards and letters with such kind words about the business, many quoting 10, 20, 30, 40. 50, 60 even 65 years of trading with us. I have been lucky to have the wonderful support of my wife Julie, behind every good man as they say, also our son Chris who took over front of shop and his rapport with customers. Also our dedicated team who have who have all put a shift in these last few weeks. Jodie front of house, Angela, Louise, Josh, Kelvin, Sean, Scarlett, Travis all working away behind the scenes alongside myself. Also not forgetting family and work colleagues from previous years in building the business. Finally a big thank you to our many customers, friends, who have supported us over the years, God bless you all.

We are currently preparing orders in the order we received them. .. ie first come first served.
Can we ask that no one phones, messages or turns up unannounced until at least 10.30 by which time we should have an idea of what and if we will still have available for sale..
