One of the many perks for us at Brambles being at such a lovely location on eternallakekent is that we can buy our lunch from Pureplanet Cafe who are right next door! Always so delicious (especially pizza Fridays which is our absolute favourite).

Why we Love our spring greens! 🌱

When the sun is shining and you feel like a healthy refreshing smoothie, try this recipe:

1 large handful of spring greens
1 banana (peeled and sliced)
1 sliced apple or pineapple chunks for a citrus zing
1 cup liquid base (apple juice, almond milk, oat drink, or filtered water) finishing my touches: A squeeze of fresh lime juice or a spoonful of chia seeds.

Spring greens are the first young, tender cabbages of the year. Unlike mature cabbages, they feature loose, leafy heads without a hard, dense core. They are packed with vitamins C, E, K and fibre! 😁

Don’t forget to bring your bottles to refill your household staples. Good for the environment, saves plastic waste and also saves you money. 💕🌱

Here is an example, you don’t always have to invest in a refillable bottle, even an empty water bottle makes a great refillable. Here’s one that’s filled with our Fill Refill Washing up liquid! Ready to store at home, decant into your dispenser or even use straight from the bottle 😁🫧

Radishes are surprisingly nutritious for such a small vegetable, they can be good for…

1. Digestive health
* High in fiber, which helps keep digestion regular.
* Their water content can also help prevent constipation.

2. Weight management
* Low in calories (about 20 calories per cup of sliced radishes).
* Crunchy and filling, making them a good snack.

3. Vitamins and minerals
* Rich in vitamin C, which supports the immune system and helps protect cells from damage.
* Provide smaller amounts of potassium, folate, and other nutrients.

4. Antioxidants and plant compounds

* Radishes contain compounds called glucosinolates and isothiocyanates, which are also found in vegetables like Broccoli and Cabbage.
* These compounds are being studied for potential benefits related to inflammation and cell health.

5. Hydration
* Radishes are about 95% water, so they contribute to your daily fluid intake.

6. Blood sugar support
* Because they’re low in carbohydrates and contain fiber, radishes have little impact on blood sugar levels compared with many snack foods.

Ideas on how to eat them 😊🥗

* Raw in salads for a peppery crunch.
* Sliced into tacos or sandwiches.
* Pickled.
* Roasted, roasting makes them milder and slightly sweet.
* The leafy tops are edible and can be added to soups, pesto, or stir fries.
