We wanted to take a moment to share some important news with you all. After many wonderful years running the village shop as a family business, we have made the difficult decision to step back.
Our children are growing up so fast, and our parents are in need of our attention.
We feel it’s important to prioritize our family at this stage in our lives.
We kindly ask that you respect our privacy during this time and avoid any unnecessary speculation or rumours🔕
We know this announcement may come as a surprise, and we apologize for not informing you sooner. We had to wait until the official date was confirmed, and as soon as we had that information, we wanted to share it with you.
To address any concerns, we want to be clear:
we have not deserted the village shop without saying goodbye.
We have not sold it, nor do we intend to.
Rest assured, the village shop will not close.
Mahen and I will personally be in the shop over the coming weeks to ensure a smooth and swift transition. We will be working closely with our successor to hand over the reins gradually, making sure that everything continues to run smoothly.
We are pleased to introduce Raj, a dear friend and an experienced business owner with over 20 years of retail experience. Raj hails from a nearby village near Canterbury and understands the importance of community. He will be bringing with him a great team of experienced management staff, who share his commitment to excellent service and community care. Together, they will continue to operate the shop with the same passion and dedication that you have come to expect.
Raj has some exciting plans for the shop, starting with extended opening hours to better accommodate everyone’s needs.
Monday - Friday
🏪 6:30 AM to 9:00 PM,🛒
Saturday 7am - 9pm
Sunday 8am - 9am
We kindly ask that you give him and his team the same warm support and encouragement that you have so generously given us, especially during challenging times like COVID.
We take immense pride in having served this exceptional village of Rolvenden. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to have brought up our kids, especially with such a lovely school and supportive community. We are incredibly grateful to each and every one of you for choosing to shop with us, even though you had the option of going to supermarkets or shopping online. Your loyalty, friendship, and support have meant the world to us.
Thank you for being such a wonderful part of our journey. We hope you will join us in welcoming Raj and his team and continue to support the village shop as it moves forward.
Finally, this transition means we’ll now have more time to enjoy that long-awaited tea and catch up with many of you. We’re looking forward to it!❤️
