💔 We Never Thought We'd Have to Write a Post Like This... 💔
Today has been absolutely heartbreaking.
We know we haven't been open for long. However, the renovations alone cost a lot of money, and with ongoing expenses like rent, equipment rentals for tills and bins, stock, wages, and utilities, the costs quickly add up.
We've had just three customers all day.
Every morning we're here early preparing fresh food with quality ingredients. All of our meat comes from the local butcher across the road – our bacon, sausages and all of the meat we use for our lunches. We believe in supporting local businesses while giving our customers the best quality food we can.
The people who do come through our doors leave us fantastic reviews and tell us how much they enjoy the food. The problem has never been the quality of our food – it's simply getting people through the door.
The truth is, we're scared.
We've poured everything we have into Long's Cafe. The early mornings, the long days, the hard work – it's all been worth it when we see happy customers enjoying their meals. But the reality is, if people don't start supporting us locally soon, we genuinely don't know how much longer we'll be able to keep our doors open.
If you've been meaning to visit, please don't put it off. Whether it's breakfast, lunch, Sunday dinner, or even just a coffee, every single customer makes a huge difference to a small independent business like ours.
