The Paddock itself is our 6 acre smallholding based on the beautiful Northumberland/Gateshead border, which has provided the starting point for our small, family run business which aims to bring local, fresh, seasonal, homegrown, homemade and organically sourced (wherever possible) food to the doors of local people throughout Gateshead, Newcastle, County Durham and Northumberland through a deliver

y service & our farm shop! A selection of set price, fresh, seasonal fruit and vegetable boxes are available ranging in size and price as well as a good range of individually priced fruit and vegetables, giving you the flexibility to create your own box. No commitment is needed, with one off, weekly and fortnightly options available. We aim to produce what we can at The Paddock, but what we can't we source locally and organically. All our fruit and veg is grown free from chemicals and is fully traceable back to the producer! Fresh free range eggs are also available, all laid fresh by Laura's Layers, the wonderfully entertaining chickens at The Paddock and local, small scale producers! We have formed some excellent partnerships with local producers throughout Northumberland and further afield who have kindly agreed to share their wonderfully tasty produce with The Paddock. The Paddock hopes to enable you to enjoy the great taste of fresh, homegrown, free range and organically sourced produce delivered direct to your door. Collection available from our own farm shop, and a selection of drop off points across the region. Busy weekend, the packing shed extension is underway & work on our at home packing room continues. We are creating an extension to the garage ahead of the Winter months to give us an extended covered area for packing & storing the veg boxes as we load the van!

We've been treating posts, digging holes, climbing ladders, leveling & more!

Mike & I do all of this work ourselves at weekends, hoping to get it finished for the end of the Autumn!

And just like that it's September! My favourite time of year for the veg boxes, the UK season is at it's peak!

We've been out delivering some lush fruits & veggies today, you can order until 11pm Sunday for delivery next week, we'll be updating the website by the end of Friday with next week's availability & box contents.

Keep an eye on your inbox for a little update on our boxes & rumour has it there might be some new bread about to drop!

Top tip: if you've been thinking of trying a box, grab one for next week to try at our current prices, as prices will be increasing to enable us to continue on prioritising UK PRODUCE & supporting British Organic Farmers.

We are so much more than just fruit & veg, although we do love our veggies! Here's a little snapshot of some of the new products which have recently hit the website.

We are always updating the website with new lines, there's a whole section dedicated to newly added products & we update the website every Tuesday for the following week, so you have plenty of time to shop before the 11pm Sunday deadline.

Earlier this year we embarked on a BIG project to move the packing of ALL of our veg boxes home to our house in Northumberland.

We've converted an older garage which came with the house into a packing room & next we are building an outdoor covered area to extend the space.

It's another big project Mike & I are doing on weekends but it will give us lots of extra space & double up as a covered parking area when we aren't packing boxes.

This weekend we picked up these beautiful sturdy timbers for the corner posts from a local sawmill, Mike's digging the holes and I'm treating the timbers.

In the background is a second hand potting shed which will be going up behind the garage so I can bring all of the seedlings on from home before planting out at the smallholding next year! Exciting 🌱

Box Lists are online for next week & we are super proud to say that everything featuring in our boxes next week is UK grown even the fruit (excluding the obvious bananas!)

With the return of the UK apple & pear season, we have our own apples grown at the smallholding & UK melons & plums, meaning even our fruit is UK grown.

Late Summer into Autumn is my absolute favourite time for the veg boxes! Grab one while you can.

Yes, you read that right! Roddy Hall have only gone & grown UK bloody melons in Devon 🍈

Despite all the challenges this Sunmer has brought to all UK growers, that's one to be celebrated & we are delighted to have them in our boxes & available on the website as an extra this week & next!
