This weekend, Harvey is taking some well deserved time off and heading away on holiday, so it’ll be us girls serving you all weekend 💪🖤

With us expecting a very busy few days, we kindly ask for your patience and understanding during busy periods, and we’ll do our absolute best to give everyone the best customer service possible.

We would also recommend coming in earlier as we will expect sell outs on BBQ produce but will do our best to keep the counter stocked!

A huge thank you to my amazing team for keeping the shop running so smoothly while I took a little time away to celebrate our friends’ wedding last weekend.

And of course, the biggest congratulations to the new Mr & Mrs Dawson, wishing you both a lifetime of love, happiness, and unforgettable memories together! 💍🤍

While I’ve been away, we’ve also had some exciting new stock arrive in store!

We are now fully stocked with the incredible Angus & Oink seasonings, just in time for BBQ season! Whether you’re grilling burgers, chicken, steaks, or trying something a little different, these seasonings are packed with flavour and are guaranteed to take your summer cooking to the next level. 🔥

We’ve also welcomed The Curry Sauce Co. range into the shop! Harvey and I recently tried them at the Dalziel Show and honestly, they were absolutely fantastic. They make such an easy and delicious meal, simply pop them into the pan with your meat and veg and dinner is sorted! Perfect for busy evenings and easily feeds a family of four. ✨

Raised on our farm just five miles from the shop and completely free range, our pigs spend their entire lives outdoors, free to roam and enjoy the fields. We believe in letting them grow naturally at their own pace, without pressure or intensive methods, ensuring the highest standards of welfare and the very best quality pork.

When you let your husband out for day release at the Longtown Pedigree Sale and he comes back with not one… but TWO new cattle 🐄🤣

Here we have our newest additions, a beautiful pedigree Shorthorn cow with two stunning twin calves, and he also couldn’t resist coming home with an in calf pedigree Shorthorn too! Safe to say he’s exceptionally pleased to add these lovely girls to The Herd ❤️

Shorthorns are one of the oldest and most respected native British cattle breeds, originally developed in the North East of England. Known for their quiet temperament, hardiness and excellent maternal instincts, they are a fantastic traditional breed to have on any farm.

They are incredibly versatile cattle, prized for their quality beef, longevity and ability to thrive in a range of conditions. Their calm nature and strong milking ability also make them wonderful mothers, something we’re already seeing with the twins.

We’re so proud to welcome these beautiful pedigree Shorthorns to The Herd and continue supporting such an iconic British breed 🇬🇧🐄
