Pop-Up Pantry is a simple concept – it is a set of stalls in Moor Market designed for food businesses and organisations to experience a day at the market. It will add variety, interest, and energy to the market, bringing in a more diverse audience, and helping spread the word about the amazing food offer the market represents. Pop-Up Pantry consists of four stalls cluste
red together in a prime, busy location right at the heart of the food retail area of the market. Each stall is fitted for food and drink retail, with all the day tenant needs – lighting, shelving, shop counters, display areas, boards for offers and info... This is an amazing opportunity for food businesses to retail, promote, engage with the customers and celebrate great local food. There is a serious promotional opportunity for the permanent traders too – local food businesses are well-connected to the more adventurous, food advocates in the area, bloggers, journalists, enthusiasts – they bring access to networks, social media and otherwise, as well as complimenting the existing offer. Pop-Up Pantry is a project funded by Sheffield Markets and run by Nick Copland of Shelf Life Ltd. Nick will be looking after the launch and the run up to Christmas. However, the aim is to create a management group – made up from local food businesses themselves, to run the project sustainably in the future. The project launches with the market on 18 November 2013 and will become self-sufficient in January 2014. The cost for a day's trading will be £30 paid in advance. All payments will be to Sheffield Markets.
