Hi fellow food lovers in the UK. What on earth has happened to Jersey Royal potatoes?
They were always something to look forward to every year, kidney shaped, with nutty flavours. Boiled in a little salted water and served with a k**b of butter!
Now, they have lost that lovely shape, the skins are no longer shiny and they totally are tasteless. Jersey, are you screwing these up the same way you screwed your once renowned tomatoes?? Money , money , money….

Nice big muscly rainbow trout fillet out of cold smoke over oak.

Hot smoking tomorrow - Gressingham Turkey legs- (they’re whoppers) plus chicken thigh boneless fillets, and of course locally shot Pheasant breasts over wild cherry. I only use local lads and ladies who go for the higher, harder shots, so they’re not blown to pieces!!

Well here’s the mature cheddar out of cold smoke last night - great weather for cold smoking as its cold! Four kilos destined for vac packing and chilling in the fridge for two weeks to mature and develop the smoke flavour to the inside.
