Please note, we are not able to simply swap a pile of cash for coins over the counter without a bank transaction or vice versa. The Post Office can only facilitate this as a withdrawal in or as a deposit into your UK bank account, from which you can then withdraw as coins/notes.

Any coins deposited must be sorted and bagged. You will need to sort your coins into the official clear plastic money bags provided by banks or can be obtained at your local post offices. Coins must be in the specific required denominations and amounts (e.g, £1 coins in bags of £20, 50p, 20p coins in bags of £10. 10p, 5p coins in bags of £5, 2p, 1p coins in bags of £1.

Counterfeit £20 notes... 💷

Theres a huge volume of £20 notes that have been impounded across the country and they’re rife around Inverclyde.

These forged notes 'DO NOT' have any braile on them in the left hand side, they are completely smooth and they feel totally different. Colour is slightly more purple..

If we do come across one in our money counter machines (Post Office and Shop) as it is very good at detecting them, unfortunately we have to keep it and inform the police along with CCTV.

(Please note, all our notes and money are checked before given out to the public.)

1️⃣ Head to the Post Office website
2️⃣ Fill in the online customs form
3️⃣ You’ll receive a barcode
4️⃣ Bring the barcode into the Post Office and we’ll print the customs form for you — quick and easy, saving you time at the counter 👍

🌍 This applies to all overseas destinations…

If you’re sending to anywhere else in the world, doing it online first will really help keep queues down and speed things up for everyone.
