We are back open today, Saturday, doing what we do best: slicing up the finest artisanal cheeses, laying down high-welfare cured meats, and popping bottles of authentic, award-winning English wine.

No pretentious nonsense. Just incredible flavour, cosy lighting, and Dan behind the bar pouring the good stuff. 🍷

BANK HOLIDAY HOURS

A little update from us for the weekend ahead and it’s a good one…

Firstly, we’ll be closed on Friday as we celebrate a family wedding

But don’t worry, we’ll be back on Saturday from 10:30am – 9:30pm and we’ve currently got availability downstairs if you’ve got a gang to bring along for wine, cheese, and a proper catch up.

And because nobody should miss out on Golden Hour… we’re bringing our Friday favourite to Saturday instead

🥂 2 glasses of English fizz and a small cheeseboard, all for £28

Perfect for easing into the bank holiday weekend the right way.

On Sunday, we’re extending our hours and will be open until 6pm, giving you even more time for cheese, bottles, and one last weekend treat.

Then on Monday, we’re back to our usual hours of 10:30am – 3:30pm.

After what’s set to be a very busy few days, we’ll then be taking a quick little breather and will be closed Thursday, before reopening as normal on Friday.

We’ve also got some absolutely beautiful new cheeses and exciting new products landing ready for the weekend and trust us, you’re going to want to get involved

Wine Meats Cheese the only place you’ll get a proper artisan cheeseboard in Leigh, Southend or Thorpe Bay.

Featuring a very generous glass of Flint Vineyard Charmat Rosé and my immediate reaction from across the room:
“Mate… are you alright there?”

Because there’s topping up a glass… and then there’s pouring like your ex just got engaged.

To be fair, we do understand the lack of restraint. Flint Vineyard’s Charmat Rosé is dangerously easy to get carried away with — bright, fresh, packed with delicate strawberry fruit, soft bubbles, and the kind of crisp finish that makes “just one glass” completely unrealistic.

And honestly, if you’re going ham it up, at least make it good.

I have since recovered. The bottle, however, didn’t make it.

Introducing our newest addition… Chipcuterie

A totally original concept that we absolutely, definitely, 100% did not nick from Instagram… and honestly? We’re annoyed we didn’t think of it first.

Because this… this is outrageous.

Forget sad crisps in a bowl. Chipcuterie is lazy grazing elevated to an art form; salty, crunchy, cheesy, pickly perfection built for good wine, long chats, and “just one more handful” energy.

This weekend’s board is stacked with some of our absolute favourite things:
🥔 Proper salted kettle chips
🫒 Herb olives
🥒 Cornichons
🧅 Pearl onions
🧀 Hafod Welsh cheese
🥩 Prosciutto

It’s got crunch, it’s got salt, it’s got tang, it’s got richness, every bite gives you something different and somehow makes the next sip of wine or beer taste even better. Which, if we’re honest, is exactly what we’re all trying to achieve anyway.

And the wine pairings? Dangerous.

A chilled glass of Rosé brings out all the bright, savoury notes. Two Tree keeps things fresh and lively. Or, if you’re feeling slightly sophisticated, a glass of Martin’s Lane Chardonnay with and prosciutto is genuinely a bit of a moment.

This is the kind of thing that starts as “we’ll just have a little snack” and somehow turns into three glasses of wine and cancelling your evening plans.

Bliss made crispy.

And finally, a huge shout out to .pokes for helping us name this glorious, salty masterpiece and of course for being our tasting guinea pigs 🙌

Of course there will be imitation, but don’t be a dork come to for the proper experience.

Introducing brand new Pinot Noir Rosé 2025 and honestly, it’s every bit as good as it sounds. Packed with ripe strawberry, a lift of tropical pineapple, and a beautifully fresh, vibrant finish, this is summer in a glass done properly. Elegant, expressive, and incredibly moreish.

We’re genuinely lucky to be one of the very first to be stocking this exceptional new release - and yes, we’ve already got a few bottles chilling and ready to go.

There may have been an attempt to channel our inner Tom Gilbey along the way… but if you want decent wine without all the shouting, you know where to find us 😉
