It’s going to be hot hot hot today ☀️🥵 and we have more news hot off the press!!

Hot on the heels (yes that’s 5 hots already 🤭) of our final total announcement from the walk, we are delighted to let you know that final amount raised at the Mentley Farm Summer Celebration on 18th July was £1092 🎉💜🩵 so each of our charities, One Wish Dog Foundation (Tally’s Fund) and Pawsitive Futures UK (Teddy’s Fund) will receive £546 which we will round up to £550. More information about these two brave dogs below 🐾.

Huge thanks to everyone who supported us and a special mention to Karen and Louise, who invited us for the day, and the wonderful artesan business owners who donated their wares for an incredible raffle hamper (won by Kim Norman).

What a week to celebrate two incredible achievements - we have more exciting events to announce soon so keep an eye on our socials.

💜 What a way to end our first six months of Makers and Bakers markets for 2026! 💜

Yesterday, before our summer break, Louise welcomed us all to the beautiful lavender fields at Mentley Farm for a truly special Summer Celebration.

From a peaceful yoga class amongst the lavender to charity stalls supporting amazing local causes, Funderbirds’ fun dog show, live music, children’s arts and crafts, delicious street food (which completely sold out!), and hundreds of visitors enjoying the sunshine with family and friends, it was a day to remember.

We loved welcoming new small businesses alongside our regular stallholders, celebrating Jayne’s birthday, and seeing so many of you travel from across Hertfordshire to support local makers, bakers and creatives.

As the sun set over the lavender fields, our stallholders came together to celebrate not just a wonderful day, but an incredible six months of supporting one another. That’s what Makers and Bakers is all about, a community where small businesses thrive together.

We are now taking a well earned summer break, but we will be back at BEAM on Sunday 6th September, ready for another fantastic season of markets leading up to Christmas.

🌿 This summer, if you can make one change, choose to shop small. Every gift, treat or handmade item you buy from a local artisan supports a real person, a local family and our community.

Thank you to every visitor, stallholder, volunteer and performer who has supported us this year. Have a wonderful summer we cannot wait to see you all again in September! 💜
