The upper part of Newton Rd, Mumbles is increasingly becoming a foodie destination and not just for it's restaurants.

One newcomer is Chai, a mix of tea room, coffee shop and deli. This combination is new to Swansea but has proved to be a winner in other parts of the country and the USA. The menu offers a good range of open sandwiches with toppings that are certainly not run of the mill, such as Bries with locally picked sloe and apple jelly. h equally unusual fillings all freshly made on the premises. There is plenty of choice when it comes to tea- Chai being a generic word for tea in many European and Asian languages. Chai has over 40 varieties to choose from - a tea lovers heaven. But it doesn't stop there. The deli counter will delight those who love cheeses and meats from around Europe. There are plenty of cook's ingredients, caper berries balsamic vinegars all caught my eye- it's good to pick up foodie favourites normally only available in larger stores.
