"Spring Gardening for Wildlife" short talk. We’re really pleased to welcome Jasper Doyle, co-founder & co-director of Grow Greener Co-operative, as a guest speaker for our Seed Swap & Spring Folk Gathering this Friday.

Jasper brings over 20 years of experience across horticulture, arboriculture, and land-based work.

His background includes hands-on gardening, tree care, and forestry conservation, with 17 years spent working in London managing and maintaining a wide range of green spaces. He has also worked in arboriculture in Australia, adding an international perspective to his approach.

Based in South Devon for several years now, his work focuses on creating spaces that are not only well cared for, but rich in biodiversity and working in balance with nature.

In this talk, Jasper will be sharing insights into gardening for wildlife in the spring, exploring simple, effective ways to support living systems, encourage beneficial insects, and help gardens come into life as the season shifts.

A great chance to learn from real, hands-on experience and take away ideas you can use straight away 🌿

A good day spent sowing seeds 🌱
Some for the forest garden nursery, some for the market garden. This is all part of the careful work of growing, season by season.

Each tray is a tiny beginning. Future plants, future harvests, future delicious preserves, future habitats for pollinators and wildlife.

Fantastic work from Moor Trees and everyone involved in this project. Expanding native woodland is so important for wildlife and for reconnecting habitats across the landscape. 🌳
It’s also great to see trees being grown from local provenance seed ~ meaning seed collected from trees already growing in the area, helping maintain plants that are well adapted to local conditions.

Volunteering on tree planting days with Moor Trees was actually part of the journey that led us towards starting our own plant based enterprise.

Seeing projects like this is always inspiring. It’s part of a wider movement of people thinking about how we restore landscapes, grow more trees and create resilient ecosystems for the future.

Wyrd Botanica is developing a forest garden nursery at Buntings Farm, nestled among its walnut tree alley terraces, diverse hedgerows, wildflowers, and an orchard with heritage varieties. Our focus is on growing regenerative, edible perennial plants that support wildlife and resilient landscapes. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cx2ryj0mk48o

Dartmoor National Park says 8.5 hectares of native trees will be planted on Harford Moor.

A new chapter is unfolding for us 🌿

What began as a market garden rooted in regenerative growing, nutritious food, and a love of working closely with the land is evolving. With Tom now joining as a business partner, and with a change in name and direction, we’re stepping into something that feels far more aligned with who we are and the land-based business we want to grow.

This new path reflects our ethos, supports the wider farm vision, and creates a rhythm that works more naturally with family life and a changing climate.

We’re about to begin this next phase — growing primarily for botanical syrups, infused vinegars, preserves, and seasonal alchemy from our forest garden nursery and market garden, The Buntings orchard, and the hedgerows around us.

We’re also developing a forest-garden plant nursery focused on perennial plants for regenerative edible landscapes, because we want to see more food-growing ecosystems thriving everywhere.

This shift brings us back to what has quietly lived at the heart of what we have loved for many years: crafting delicious blends to stir into cocktails, breakfasts, lunches, and seasonal dishes.

After the loss of a loved one, stepping away from routine gave us space to return to foraging, growing for the joy of it, and making things simply to share with friends and family. In that slower rhythm, we rediscovered something important — a sense of shared joy and an even deeper connection to what we love.

Plants are planned to go on sale later in 2026, and in time we hope to offer small amounts of seasonal produce from our forest garden too.

Thank you for being part of the journey as it continues to grow and change with us 🌱

Something new is taking root…

After a chapter of finding our way and working with the land, Honeyacre Farm is gently closing its gates — but this is not an ending. It’s a transformation. 🦋

A new name, a fresh direction, and a deeper step into regenerative growing, seasonal cycles, and edible botanical alchemy are on the way!

Behind the scenes, the work quietly continues — the land, the vision, and the journey moving forward through shared hands and a growing partnership, slowly finding its place.

Thank you to everyone who has supported the journey so far. Your encouragement means more than you know, and we cannot wait to share more with you soon.

What comes next is already unfolding.
