The recent power cuts and internet issues have caused us to see more card transactions than normal being declined by banks.
When this happens transactions get stuck in a "pre-authorisation" limbo. This means that your bank has authorised the payment and put it in pending status, so that money cannot be spent again. However our business has not claimed the money as the payment has failed to process on our system.
When the payment fails to go through, the pending charge will automatically drop off and the money will return to your balance, usually within 3 to 7 working days, but it can take up to 30 days depending on your banks policy. If the pending charge does not drop off then you would need to contact your bank.
Hope this helps any customers who find themselves in this situation.
