Penshurst Farmers' Market

Penshurst Farmers' Market Penshurst Farmers' Market is held on the first Saturday of each month from 9.30 until 12 noon Any operating profit goes to support local groups and charities.

In recent months The Times, The Daily Telegraph and iNews all named Penshurst Farmers’ Market as one of the best farmers’ markets in the UK. Set against the wonderful backdrop of Penshurst Place, our thriving monthly market now has up to 30 regular and seasonal guest stalls providing a huge variety of fresh, local produce. Particularly popular are our fresh fish and seafood, free-range meat and ga

me, bread, pies and deli products, cheese, craft ciders and fruit juices. You’ll also find fruit and vegetables, chutneys and jams, cakes, plants and fresh flowers. Our aim is simple: we want to give customers the opportunity to buy high quality, fresh, seasonal food and drink direct from independent local producers. And when we say local, we mean local: the vast majority of our produce comes from Kent and Sussex (which means that it is grown, reared, prepared or caught here), with just one or two stallholders based in neighbouring Surrey. All of our prepared foods (pies, jams, deli foods etc) are handmade locally, using locally sourced ingredients wherever possible. The market was first set up by a team of local volunteers back in 2005 on a not-for-profit basis and is still run by a small committee. As the market has grown in size and popularity, we have employed a manager, currently Sibyl Van Praag, who is responsible for its smooth operation. In 2021 we ran our first ever Christmas farmers market on the Saturday before Christmas. It’s such a success that we have now added it to our calendar; this year it will take place on Saturday 17th December 2022. To make your visit easier, we have ample free parking and wheelchair access. Families and dogs are welcome. We are very lucky to enjoy a fabulous location against the backdrop of beautiful Penshurst Place. Visit the Penshurst Place coffee shop for takeaway drinks and snacks.
