Well, tomorrow is the OFFICIAL opening of our Secret Garden! 🌿

Lots of you were encouraged to sneak a peek on Saturday and loved it, but tomorrow is the day we officially throw the gate open.

A little hidden spot to enjoy your breakfast, lunch or coffee away from the hustle and bustle. With 4 new cabins and plenty more outdoor seating!

So if you’ve not seen it yet, then tomorrow is the perfect time to come and enjoy a brew ☕ 🫖 🌸

Facts! 🤣 We’ve got grape & original here at Kalahari Kitchen, open till 4pm today

New recipe chili boerewors in stock today- grab it while you can!

Today I educated my British husband on the real source of South African awesomeness. 🇿🇦😂

I took him into a South African shop, pointed at the Chappies jar, and said, “There it is… our national superpower.”

If you grew up in South Africa you already know.

The best part? We didn’t even have to buy them half the time! 😂 If you were due a few cents change, the shopkeeper would smile, reach into the Chappies jar and say, “Here you go.”

Looking back, I’m convinced they weren’t giving us gum… they were investing in South Africa’s future. 🤣 🥳😇😜🥳🥳

Every Chappie came with a random fact on the wrapper, so while we were happily chewing away, we were also becoming just a little bit smarter.

Imagine a nation quietly being raised on bubblegum, useless facts and secret super powers 😆🤣

All the way from South Africa we have the fabulous Sami Hall Says with her comedy show ‘Why I’m still single and other stupid questions’

This event will take place in the Main Hall with doors at 7pm, and the show commencing at 7.30pm.

A little shop update… ❤️

These two gorgeous people are my grandparents. This week my grandad celebrated his 90th birthday, and on Saturday Granny is throwing a big family party to mark this incredible milestone.

So, with apologies for any inconvenience, the shop will be closed all day on Saturday while we spend the day celebrating.

Grandad is the reason our whole family has a little bit of African dust in our hearts. As a young tradie from Long Eaton, he boarded a ship in search of adventure and never looked back. His courage and love of Africa shaped not only his own life but the lives of generations that followed, and we’ve all been incredibly lucky to share in that story.

Thank you for your understanding. We’ll be back as normal after the weekend, and I can’t wait to celebrate this legend with the people who love him most. ❤️
