We’ve had some lovely weather, but if I’m honest it was too hot for me. But it did get germination going in earnest.
So after a very dismal two sowings of runner beans, we now have some sprouted. So what did we learn……… we learned to use our tried and tested method of starting them off in loo roll middles, pots seemed to hold them too wet so the bean rotted.
I have a question for a good pal of ours, Paul , courgette king of Bissoe, in some pictures I’ll post I’m confused about, the question is are they squash or courgette/zucchini ?
On other news the cucumbers are flowering, aubergine are getting on and the tomatoes are flowering and there’s even a baby tom!
A couple of shots from around the garden to cheer us up.
Now hoping the forecast rain is beneficial and enough…….

As the sun is shining……Mr V.I.A.H is out playing with his new toy and trying to get our paddock dryer while the weather is with us. Steady as you go hubby…..

An amazing day in the garden today. We absolutely thrashed what we call ‘ the big bed ‘, the border by the road wall. Previously it’s taken a couple of days, but done it in a couple of hours. Tomorrow I’ve got some plants to find a home for now I can see spaces from the weeds.
Here’s a before and after…….note the expert help…….

I’m certainly not arguing, but what happened to the rain?
Still a most productive day all told. It wasn’t veggie work, but non essential gardening as hubby calls it. We weeded one of my flower beds, that’s three down, two to go. So feeling rather accomplished, if not a bit achy.
It supposed to be raining tomorrow, so I really must get on with my course after I’ve been up to see Billy 🐴.
Oh, and Pip says she was sooper helpy recycling a plant pot………all over the lawn, ach who cares, she was keeping out of mischief, lol
Now this is a real downer, I had to re sow the runner beans, oh boy are they slow to germinate, do any of you folks having germination issues this year? I’m trying not to be despondent, but……….
Ah, well, cuppa and a bikkit time, plus a couple of Paracetamol for me old bones, lolol
Take care y’all

This is rather glorious today eh? Managed with a bit of help to get my tomatoes staked and tied in, I’m pretty sure I spy flowers forming on the Alicante, yay!🎉.
We got the peppers planted up and irrigation sorted, phew!
And today we let Pip off the lead around the garden, first time since having her zipper put in, we were expecting zoomies, by heck she sure let off steam, with us hoping she didn’t do damage to herself. Let me say she is super tired now.
So, the pigeons have decimated the top of the cherry tree, so we’ve employed Eddie to put them off, fingers crossed 🤞.
Anyhoo, on with the essay………and some random pics of how it’s going

Well that was pants 🩲, had to re-sow all the runner beans, all but one rotted in the pot. Ah, the joys of gardening. Started hardening off the squash, courgettes and sweetcorn, just need to rotorvate the beds now.
While it’s hot we’re working French 🇫🇷/ Spanish 🇪🇸 style and doing siestas…….. much more agreeable to the constitution, lol
Hubby has set up the irrigation for the tomatoes, and I’ll plant up the peppers tomorrow, then the can get some root space.
Onwards! And unit 14 is here…….only one to go and it’s done ✔️.

Mr V.I.A.H has been putting the tractor to work, yes we know that’s not what the box is for, but it’s saving time and grunt
