The Taffinder Fishing Season has begun!

Ben made the most of a sunny Saturday in Portscatho to get his boat FH37 ‘Agnes’ back in the water.

All the fishing gear comes out over winter, along with the boats, to keep it safe from storms and for any maintenance. So the first job of the season is to lay the lines of crab and lobster pots back around Gerrans Bay.

Ben lines all his pots up on the harbour slipway before winching them aboard. Then it’s time to get back out to his favourite fishing spots.

We have 4 Taffinder in-shore fishing boats, and we also work with a fleet of 8 other small local boats that all supply us with the fabulous fresh fish and shellfish you see in the farm shop.

We’ve got some great Lemon Sole, Dover Sole, Monk and more in the fish counter this week. And the last of Simon’s lemon harvest to go with it.

We’re open 10am - 6pm Monday - Saturday. We will be open Good Friday and Easter Monday as normal.

Pendower Farm Shop is due to open its doors again for the 2026 season on the 23rd March.

We are open Monday to Saturday 10am-6pm and closed on Sundays.

The shop will be full to the brim with fresh locally caught fish and shellfish along with bread and so many fantastic local produce and treats.

We are looking forward to seeing all of our loyal customers and hopefully meeting some new ones!

We have some of our fantastic free range pork coming back from the butcher. We are currently closed but happy to organise collection times for anybody who is interested in topping up their freezer.

▪️Whole Pig- £360
▪️Half Pig- £180: 2x leg joints, 2 x shoulder joints off the bone, 3 x packs of belly joints, 3 x packs of chops, 3x packs of steaks, 3 x packs of sausages, 2 x packs of mince.
▪️ Individual cuts also available: legs, shoulders (off the bone), chops, steaks, belly strips, belly joints and mince.
▪️ Packs of our delicious sausages- cracked black pepper, pork and Apple and traditional.

It’s been a brilliant, and busy year at Pendower Farm. Our first with the farm shop in its new home.
Thank you to our customers, and our wonderful team who work so hard to make it all happen.

We are still open 10am - 6pm every day, and 10am - 1pm on New Year’s Eve. Pop in for some NYE menu inspiration.

We will be closing our doors on the 3rd January and returning on the 30th March.

Less than a week to go… what’s still on your list?

The shop is absolutely brimming with wonderful produce for your festive feasting.

We’ve got lots of fabulous locally grown veg. Giant crabs and lobsters (plus smaller ones too!) Lots of fresh fish. Simon’s home grown lemons. Leafy clementines. Logs and kindling. Wine, beer and spirits. bread and stollen. Milk and cheese. Christmas cakes. Chocolate gifts. The list goes on… We really are fully stocked.

Place your orders please!

If you would like some beautiful fresh Cornish lobster or crab over the festive period, please let us know now so we can make sure we have enough in stock.

Orders can be collected any day up til Christmas Eve at 1pm, and then we open again on 27th 10am-6pm right through til New Year’s Eve at 1pm.

We also have whole crab and lobster if you’d like to cook them at home.

Simon is harvesting his lemons now so we are getting fresh deliveries from him daily. Perfect to go with your shellfish and fish, or a Christmas tipple!

Lots of festive veg is on the way this week. We’ll update our social media stories with what’s in stock.

*Please note today (Sunday 14th December) is the last day to place an order for a turkey*.

It’s fascinating to watch you all picking out your favourites!

And if you haven’t decked your halls yet, then you’ve got just under 2 weeks… Come and see us at the farm shop this weekend, we’ve definitely got the perfect tree for you.

We’ve also got some beautiful wreaths and swags. Cyclamen for your pots. And lemon trees which make wonderful gifts.

With Christmas fast approaching we are starting to get organised: We are currently closed but taking orders now. We will be back open on the 24th November 10am-6pm everyday.
