Celebrate 10 delicious years with us!
From 12th â 21st June weâll be marking 10 years of the Great Cornish Food Store over 10 days. Join us instore and meet the makers, enter exclusive competitions, shop birthday offers and there may even be cake!
Weâll also be using the occasion to say a fond farewell to Ruth Huxley, our founder, as she retires, completing her handover and being succeeded by Richard Bain as Managing Director.
Stocking around 2,500 lines from over 250 local suppliers the store was established by Ruth as a centre for the best Cornish produce and is the only 100 per cent local food hall anywhere in the UK that shares its premises with a major supermarket.
Over the last decade we estimate that the storeâs value to the local economy is in the region of ÂŁ70 million and in 2022 the store transitioned to employee ownership, giving its team of nearly 40 a say in how the business is run and a share in its profits.
So join us in marking the highly-successful decade, there will be different activities happening in store each day, with supplier sampling sessions, giveaways linked to the number ten, and ten specially designed freshly-baked cupcakes to be given away each day.
Our cafĂŠ will also be offering some throwback favourites on a special ÂŁ10 menu available throughout the ten-day celebration.
