So I thought the Battle of Seville was over for 2026. How wrong I was! Good old Ocado have delivered more Seville oranges. I expected a substitute orange!
So another skirmish to take place tomorrow and Wednesday!
But currently processing the clementines for a restocking of the much requested Clementine and Malt Whisky marmalade and then it’s the Seville Marmalade and the last missing item; Apple and Walnut Chutney. Then every item has some stock that I can make in March, summer seasonal items excepted. Still got some restocking to the levels required as I go back to teaching in 5 weeks!

So I have reached the end of the Seville oranges so marmalade making is over and stocks are high. Have I made enough for the year? Only time will tell.
Now onto restocking the other lines. Raspberry and Malt Whisky made yesterday and curd making today with chutney over the weekend.

Crowborough pop up market at the civic centre on Saturday. See you there from 10am.

It’s the first Uckfield Pop-up market of the year on Saturday 21st February and the jars will be loaded to include the two asked after products: No Shred Marmalade and No Onion Chutney.
Still failed on the blackcurrant jam as I can’t source suitable blackcurrants!

Well the “Battle of Seville” continues with yet more being chopped today. Took a break and converted 5kg of plums into the two best selling products: Plum and Amaretto Jam along with Plum and Port Jam. All plum and now it’s marmalade with an interval of Apple and Walnut Chutney.

It has been a struggle! Obtaining marmalade oranges but thank goodness for online deliveries. Now the second struggle is to turn them all into actual marmalade! I now have quite a few kilograms to process! And I even now stock a No Shred version, something I have been asked for numerous times. Another day of chopping those Seville oranges thinly!

Nearly time for Xmas!
By which I mean Christmas Fairs begin tomorrow.
All the making of products over the last few weeks are now ready for these events.
Tomorrow (19th November) is the Friends of Sussex Hospices Fair at East Sussex National on the A22.
After that is the Guides Xmas Fair at the Luxford Centre in Uckfield (23rd November). More to follow…

Busy times here gearing up for the Christmas season. New products, some old returners and a whole new product line!

New delights include Grape, Apple & Cinnamon Jam; Bramley, Quince & Scotch Bonnet Jelly; Strawberry and (home made) Lavender Gin Jam; Raspberry & Scotch Whisky Jam and Apricot & Cardamom Jam.
Returning are Pear & Cranberry Relish, Three Fruit Marmalade, Lemon & Lime Curd, Papaya & Mango Chutney and the very special Luxury Cranberry Relish for Christmas.

Completely new are the musically themed gift packs containing 5 small jars.
The Jam Session: all jams.
The Definitive Mix: 2 chutneys, 2 jams and a jelly.
The Chutney Collection: all chutneys of course!

See you at the Uckfield pop-up on Saturday then at East Sussex National on 19th November for the Friends of Sussex Hospices Christmas Gift Fair and on the 29th November at the same venue for the Ashdown Radio Christmas Fair.

Packing ready for the Crowborough Pop up. Some new products, some old ones returning and the launch of the (music themed, loosely) temptation multi packs for gifting.
There’s a new scotch bonnet chilli jelly, a tangerine and rum marmalade, strawberry and homemade lavender gin jam and the return of papaya and mango chutney.

The gift packs of fine temptation sized jars are in two sets at the moment (the third version isn’t ready yet) titled The Jam Session (jams) and The Definitive Mix (jam, chutneys and a jelly). The Chutney Collection is missing a chutney at this time so you’ll have to wait on that one.

Packing ready for Crowborough Pop up on Saturday.
Due to the kind donation of damsons I now have damson jam and a rather special damson chutney.
Also it is quince time so this season’s quince jelly is ready and also a Turkish twist with rose water added.
And a new tomato and apple flavour packed chutney too.

Yes, I’ve been busy! See you there I hope.
