Planting a tree might seem like a small act.

But its impact lasts for generations.

One tree can absorb carbon, cool the land around it and create a home for birds, insects and wildlife. Their roots stabilise soil, reduce flooding, and help the land hold onto precious water. Multiply that by thousands, and you begin to see how powerful nature can be.

Trees clean the air we breathe.
They bring life back to the land.

And the best part?

Planting trees isn’t just about the trees themselves. It’s about building healthier landscapes, restoring ecosystems, and creating spaces where nature — and communities — can thrive.

Small action.
Massive impact.

Some time ago, we asked Professor John Quinton why biodiversity matters so much.

His answer was simple:

“If we lose our biodiversity, we lose our pollinators. And without pollinators, we lose our ability to produce food.”

It’s a powerful reminder of how interconnected everything is.

That’s why we care deeply about the quality and variety of the land our animals are raised on. Thriving, diverse landscapes don’t just benefit animal wellbeing (though they certainly enjoy it); they also strengthen ecosystems and help safeguard life at every level.

Put simply, biodiversity is nature’s safety net. The greater the variety of life, the more resilient and secure our planet will be.

“We care as much about what our pigs put into their mouths, as we do about our own.” 🐷❤️
– Harry Heath, Whitley Manor Farm

Around here, we believe good food starts long before it reaches the table — it begins with happy pigs and honest feed. That’s why we’ve embraced a circular feeding system, giving new life to by-products from other local industries: apple pulp 🍎, waste yoghurt 🥛, and spent grain from nearby breweries 🍺.

It means our pigs get to feast on delicious, nutrient-rich leftovers that would otherwise go to waste — while we cut down on emissions and steer clear of things like soy.

It’s sustainable. It’s full of heart. And the pigs? Well… they absolutely love it. 💕🐖
