Our fabulous Home Education group are working towards the LAS Schools Challenge at this years Lincolnshire Show. They are conducting some research on the Lincolnshire Buff chickens and would like to find out where they are kept around the country.

If you keep this wonderful breed of chicken, we would appreciate you would give a few minutes of your time to complete the survey!

This will be so helpful to allow the children to gain a sense of numbers and how widespread the breed is (or isnt!) and therefore help to promote the breed going forward!

Our first batch of eggs went into the incubator yesterday - here starts the season for the Lincolnshire Buffs.

🐔 Working in accordance with guidance to protect our poultry at Wood Farm 🐔

Although we keep fewer than 50 birds, they are currently housed indoors for added protection.

The health and welfare of our birds is always our top priority, and we have strict measures in place to keep them safe, including:

🛡️ Biosecurity measures
👢 Foot dips in use
🧼 Regular cleaning and disinfecting
🚫 Minimising access for wild birds
🤲 Hand washing before and after contact
🧹 Thorough cleaning of tools and equipment
