Good morning from the Fresh Produce team 🌧️🌬️

After checking the forecast (and our common sense), we’ve made the call to remain closed today.

Strong winds + heavy rain + already saturated ground = a big nope from us.

Main reason
Safety. Yours and our amazing team’s.
Secondary reason
Our gazebos would be halfway to the next postcode if we even thought about setting them up in winds like that 😅

So today it’s a stay home, stay dry, stay cosy kind of day, folks.

We’ll be back bright and early tomorrow morning, ready and raring to go, fully stocked with beautifully fresh produce and plants and zero flying gazebos 🌱🥕

Due to Storm Goretti, the roads around the wholesale markets are currently not safe to travel on.

All weather alerts are advising people to only go out if absolutely necessary.

With the safety of our team and our customers always coming first, we’ve made the decision to remain closed today.

Please stay home where possible and keep safe.

We’ll be back open tomorrow once the storm has passed 💚

Early Tuesday update 🌅

After attempting the roads around the wholesale market this morning and keeping a close eye on the forecast for Uttoxeter, we’ve taken the decision to remain closed for one more day.

This decision is purely for the safety of our team and all of you wonderful customers.
The good news is the sun is set to show its face tomorrow, and we’ll be reopening then when it’s safer for everyone.

Thank you so much for your understanding, and please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

Safety always has to come first.

Just to let all our wonderful customers know that Fresh Produce, Carter Square, Uttoxeter will be reopening as normal tomorrow – Tuesday 6th January 🥕🍊

If you’re swapping the sugar-filled snacks, chocolate, crisps and sausage rolls for something a little healthier in 2026, pop down and see us for all your fresh fruit and veg 🍎🥦

We’ve had a huge delivery of fresh produce today – with a lot of our veg coming straight from a local Midlands farm, literally picked last night. You can’t get fresher than that, and with hardly any miles on the old carbon footprint, it’s a win-win. 🙌

But we’re not just a greengrocer…
