The Happy Herd of Pedigree Dexter Cattle live in the glorious countryside between Warwick and Stratford upon Avon in rural Warwickshire, they are looked after by The Happy Farmer, (Mycroft " Woody" Perry) and his family, wife Sasha and children Devon (9), Felix (6) Tabitha (5) Beau (1) and his friends. The idea of having the herd is that we involve as many families and children in the rearing a
nd welfare of our happy herd and the production of hay crops and other fodder.Mums and Dads get to be a farmer for the day if they would like, and the children can get involved in after school clubs. Through involvement and familiarity the children get an understanding of where their food comes from. We also produce with some of the finest tasting beef in the world because we are rearing only Grass Fed, slow grown pedigree Dexters in a very natural way with as little chemical or medical intervention as possible. We also have a herd of Pigs, Oxford Sandy and Blacks for the best Pork Sausages and bacon and pork. A flock of various Chickens provide some fabulous eggs of different colours. We hope to also have a small flock of sheep for lamb and wool in the new year and that this will help to increase the amount of interesting activities on the farm for the children.
