You may have noticed that we were doing ‘No Mow May’ in part of our old orchard paddock next to the shed. It’s been wonderful to see the pollinators buzzing around the dandelions, buttercups, clover and vetch that have bloomed whilst we haven’t cut it.

In the early morning sunshine, it has been buzzing with all different insects and invertebrates. What was also wonderful to see was the Goldfinches- who we hadn’t had visit that part before and collecting seeds off the plants. Amazing!

We also had blue tit’s fledge from our nest box in our garden and the parents would bring back food for them from the shorter grassier areas of the old orchard.

Just goes to show, nature is wonderful and it’s been lovely to see the biodiversity we have here. So much so… I think we will keep a remaining patch of unmowed area from now on. After all, the countryside is somewhat dwindling and they need all the help they can get ###

It’s been a busy week getting our fields ready to plant the maize crop. Dan, who looks after the crop and arable side of the farm was sniper- eyed this week!

Can you spot the clutch of very camouflaged eggs in the middle picture? We have lapwings laying in our fields… they are a red listed species and vulnerable. Dan spotted the nests, marked where they were and ensured he worked around the nests and gave them plenty of space. They really are amazing birds- their ‘peewit’ call and acrobatics in the air are something to behold! We have them every year on the farm. The swallows have returned to and currently busy making nests!

The shed is fully stocked with our Montbeliarde Milk, Evesham Strawberry’s, Asparagus, Green Topped Carrots, Meat Pies, Sausages, Bacon, Ham and superb other local produce 🐄 ###

This mornings bird song 🎶

This is truly a favourite part of the day- everything’s peaceful, all you can hear is the birds and wildlife. And what an amazing sunrise this morning! 🌅 I love this part of the year- we are at the highest point of spring and the beginning of summer. Nature is bustling!
And the cows are coming in from the fields to be milked…

🍓🍓Afternoon Everyone ☀️🍓

Evesham Strawberry’s freshly picked this morning are now in the shed! We only have a limited amount for this week- we also have some Jersey cream in the shed too, so you can lavish your strawbs with lashings of cream 🍶

Tomorrow we also have some more Asparagus (Asparagrass correct name for it 😅😂) and green topped carrots coming in 🥕

As well as Cornish Brie, Pies and meats from Wixford and lovely yoghurts!

One of our fave things to do if we’re away from Warwickshire is to go and support other Milk Sheds, we recently took a little trip to Porthcew Dairy in Porthleven and Sweets Dairy in St Newlyn East in Kernow! They were Brilliant milk sheds and we love supporting other dairy farmers and going to see what others are doing too for new ideas and inspiration 🐄🥛😃 We would far rather find local milk sheds than go to the supermarket for milk.

Bit of a busman’s holiday 😆 when you’re away, do you try and find milk sheds too? Or try and find the best local foods? We love it!

Our good old milk tank is undergoing some TLC and repair today so unfortunately there will be no milk available today. Hopefully, there will be milk back in by 10.30 am tomorrow :) the shed is still open for other produce ###

Morning all! ✨

Just a heads up, If you haven’t seen our notices up in the shed- we are taking a short time out to spend some family time over the Easter holidays.

The shed is closed as from tomorrow Monday 30/03 and will be back open this coming Friday 03/04 with milk available from 10.30am 😁🐄

A fresh batch of milk is currently being pasteurised ready for you lovely lot today! 🥛and as usual we have other fantastic local, regional and British produce- yoghurts, butter, eggs, honey, fruit juices and cakes- mini egg brownies, bueno blondies and school cake 😎🇬🇧 We close at 4pm today.
