Few technical issues this morning with my oven but thankfully I was able to bake off a few yummy pasties.

Lamb & Mint pasty
Traditional Steak pasty
Vegetable/ Vegan pasty
Cheese & Onion pasty
Sausage rolls
All available on my deli counter.
You can also buy them frozen to take home and bake them anytime yourself.
Im impress your guest as they smell these beauties cooking in your kitchen
( I wont tell if you take credit for them 🤫 )

It was damp humid Friday morning in September.
There was a ringing 🔔 noise @ 3.00am which I thought was part of my dream 💭, but unfortunately it wasn't it's Market day!

So with only 2 hours sleep 😴 and desperate for a cuppa ☕️off I plodded grabbing my caffeine fix on route.
Great morning buying lots of fresh produce to stock in Veggie Patch & Balsher's down in Watchet.

Raspberries
Cheddar Strawberries
Victoria plums
Damsons
Apricots
Bunch carrots
Cauliflower
Savoy cabbage
Swede

Thats just a few of the produce we are holding.
From tomorrow which is good news,
I will have Pasties & Sausage rolls frozen or baked for sale.
More interesting products will be coming to
Veggie Patch soon.

Very quiet day again and may as well save electricity.

Well what a difference the weather is today.
Must be Bank hoilday weekend 🤣

So with a few customers asking for Marrows last few weeks Ive managed to get some.
Stocked in Veggie Patch but will also be stocked in Balshers later today.
( Forgot to take them down this morning )

Still very lite on vegetables due to high price or unavailable at the market this morning.
Hopefully prices will come down slighty over the coming weeks but unfortunately looks like you may have to pay the price.
Lots of crops already have been destroyed due to heatwaves meaning what is available is buy and demand.

So the best thing is you now can get fresh produce in there stock by Veggie Patch.
Got a few basics put in this morning with more to be added as the weeks go on.

​Market visit this morning, and I'm happy to say I managed to get:

​Cheddar Valley Strawberries

​Green Avocados
​Norfolk Scrapers

​Unfortunately, typical me—I bought a few extra salad items this morning but forgot to pick them up off the pallet! 😭🤬
​Also, thank you for the fantastic response yesterday about having produce available downtown!
Starting tomorrow morning, I’ll have a great selection set up in the old Post Office, hopefully looking just as good as it did in my old shop picture.

​A huge thank you to Tamsin Balch and her partner for offering me space in their new shop, Balsher's. It's going to be lovely working alongside them both to bring fresh produce back down to Watchet.
​You won't have to walk all the way up to Veggie Patch anymore, though it would still be nice to see you from time to time!

Sorry I’ve been so quiet on here for the last few weeks!
Between the recent heatwaves and local supply issues across the UK and Europe, I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about what to do next—even wondering whether to keep Veggie Patch trading or call it a day and get a job. 🤔
But after 9 years of working for myself, being told what to do every day just isn't for me!

​Which brings me to some exciting news... 🎉🎉

​I was recently approached by a new trader opening up in town (who is already a great customer of mine!).
Veggie Patch will now be stocking a selection of fresh produce in her shop to start with, and over time I’ll be adding more seasonal goods as they come in.
​I'm so grateful for this opportunity, especially after being nagged for years to bring the shop down into Watchet!
It’s a small step, but fingers crossed for a bright future working alongside another fantastic local business.
​Supporting local small businesses is so important for our community.

Well it Tuesday and another day with no rain 😭
Lovely having sunshine this long but unfortunately its now starting to cause problems for farmers.
Vegetables are now getting affected in the fields due to burning and water restrictions.
😪😪
So not much veg unfortunately.
This mornings adventurous to the market and I have picked up lots of lovely Fruits and Salads.

Pineapple
Watermelon slices
Plus much much more.

No compost instock at the moment just waiting for delivery confirmation
