Time to stock up on what fresh produce we have remaining in Lovats Supermarkets as the ferry has broken down again today and tomorrows sailings 03.06.26 have been cancelled with afternoon review. We have also been told that Lochboisdale has broken down today

We have the islands biggest frozen food sections in both stores stocking a wide range of foods to keep everyone from running out along with a vast range of tin/dry foods available and local produce.

Due to a technical issue with MV Hebrides’ port main engine, the following sailings are cancelled:

Depart Uig – 09:20

Depart Lochmaddy – 11:45

There will be an update regarding the 14:20 sailing from Uig by 09:00.

Service remains liable to disruption or cancellation at short notice.

FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS OF Mrs Bella MacKay

Bella will be remembered fondly by so many as our school cook/dinner lady, which is such an important part of every child’s memory , not just the food but the mother/granny figure these ladies hold, a feeling of security, kindness and love as they fed us, talked to us and on occasions gave out much needed hugs.

She will be fondly remembered by so many within our community.

Our deepest sympathies goes out to Bella’s friends and family during this sad time. May she rest in peace

We commend to your love and prayers the family and friends of the late Bella MacKay, 2 Torlum, whose funeral will take place in Uist & Barra Church of Scotland at Griminish, Benbecula, on Tuesday 2nd June at 11:00 am with interment to follow in Nunton Cemetery.
