🍰 The Landlord Fruit Cake

Botham’s of Whitby take vine fruits and steep them in Timothy Taylor’s Landlord Pale Ale before combining them with ground almonds and aromatic/subtle spices. The result is a richer, darker and more malty fruit cake than their traditional fruit cake, which uses sherry instead.
A little taste of Whitby history 🍰🌊

• Botham’s of Whitby has been baking since 1865.
• It was founded by Elizabeth Botham, who began selling her baking from a green handcart around Whitby.
• Elizabeth and her husband John had 14 children!
• Their famous Skinner Street shop originally included a bakery, tea rooms and even an ale house.
• Botham’s remains family owned and is now in its fifth generation.

This is eatTelfit Ling Heather Honey, made from the nectar of ling heather growing on the moorland surrounding Telfit Farm in the Yorkshire Dales. It’s a 100% natural, raw honey, with the bees allowed to forage naturally rather than being heavily managed. Ling heather honey is particularly prized for its intense, aromatic flavour, deep amber colour and distinctive thick, almost jelly-like texture. eatTelfit says they place around 100 hives on their moor each year, with the bees helping pollinate the heather and support its regeneration. They also picked up a Great Taste 2-star award for 2025.
If you like your honey then this really is the bees knees! 🍯🐝

Robin Hood’s Bay Vineyard Rondo 2023, made in Yorkshire. Rondo is a hardy red grape variety that’s particularly suited to the cooler English climate, and Sheveling have been working with it at their vineyard since establishing the estate in 2008. The company is owned by Ian and Rebecca Sheveling, who also operate their newer Robin Hood’s Bay Vineyard on the North Yorkshire coast. Their approach is very much about making w**e in challenging northern conditions, with Rondo used for their red and rosé w**es and Solaris for whites.
🍷
In the glass, expect something much lighter and more fruit-driven than a big European red — think bright red/blackcurrant fruit, gentle acidity, modest tannin and a relatively light body. Food-wise, that makes it surprisingly versatile: pork, roast chicken, duck, charcuterie, sausages and mushroom dishes would all work nicely; even richer fish such as salmon could handle it.
These w**es are seriously good!

Our sea salt begins its journey on the Yorkshire coast, where it is naturally sourced and supplied to us by The Aniela Wood . Their saltwater is hand-collected from local shores before being gently evaporated in small batches using natural sunlight, allowing pure sea-salt crystals to form. The crystals are then harvested and packaged by hand, creating a genuinely local Yorkshire ingredient with very little intervention.
We use this beautiful natural Yorkshire sea salt in its purest form, as well as creating our own distinctive varieties from it. Alongside selling the salt naturally, we carefully smoke some of it ourselves, developing a deep, rounded smoky character while retaining the clean salinity of the original sea salt. We also create our Garden Herb Sea Salt, combining the Yorkshire salt with carefully selected herbs to create a versatile seasoning. The result is a range of salts that starts with the sea, is rooted in Yorkshire, and is finished by hand by us.
The Yorkshire Salt Maiden is an artisan, family-run producer based near Driffield in East Yorkshire, founded around the principles of sustainable sourcing and low environmental impact. They hand-harvest clean seawater from the Yorkshire coast and use the warmth of the sun to naturally concentrate it into salt crystals, rather than relying on energy-intensive industrial evaporation. Their salt is produced in small batches and harvested and packaged by hand, with plastic-free, environmentally conscious packaging.
