Today we had the privilege of welcoming the Animal Welfare Committee (From DEFRA), supported by HSA (Humane Slaughter Association), to our farm to observe our on-farm poultry processing.
This wasn’t just a visit — it was an opportunity to have open, honest conversations about how on-farm slaughter can play a role in improving animal welfare standards across the UK.
We’re proud to be part of that discussion. Transparency, continual improvement, and doing things the right way for the birds is at the core of everything we do.
Days like today help shape the future of farming — not just for us, but for the wider industry.

🇬🇧 Happy St George’s Day 🇬🇧

For many, today is a celebration of England — its history, its people, and everything that comes with it.

For our family, it carries a much deeper meaning.

Today marks our annual George Award, held at The Mill at Sonning millatsonning The Mill at Sonning Theatre— a day where we honour my late brother George, who sadly lost his battle with cancer at just 21.

Through George Hatfield Theatrical Arts Foundation , we continue his legacy by supporting young people pursuing their dreams in the arts. This year, six incredible students will receive bursaries to help them on their journey.

George had a passion for life, for people, and for performance — and today is about keeping that spirit alive in the most meaningful way we can.

It’s a proud day, an emotional one, and above all, a reminder that something positive can grow from even the hardest moments.

From this week, you’ll be able to pick up our pasture-raised chicken from Wednesday afternoons 🙌

⚠️ Please note: Stock is limited, so if you’re planning a trip specifically for our chicken, we highly recommend calling ahead to avoid missing out.
