Meet 2026 Plate2Plate Resident Martise Dubose 🌍🥘👩🏾‍🍳

Martise Dubose knows that food is never just food. A chef, entrepreneur, and food equity advocate based in Chicago, Illinois, Martise has spent six years honing her craft in some of the city’s most respected kitchens, currently serving as Sous Chef at in The Blackstone Hotel.

But her work does not stop at the line. Martise is also the founder of a catering and private dining concept rooted in the traditional Creole dishes she grew up eating, where every menu tells a story of culture, memory, and home.

At the heart of everything she does is a conviction that Black communities deserve more than access to food. They deserve access to quality, fresh ingredients and food systems built with them in mind. She is bringing that conviction to Ghana, and we cannot wait to see what she creates.

moves through the world where food, policy, and place meet. A chef, architect, city planner, and storyteller based in Austin, Texas, Adrian’s path has never been traditional, and that is exactly what makes her extraordinary.

From opening a restaurant in La Crosse, Wisconsin, rooted in community revival, to founding the .heritage and leading the 40 Acres Project, Adrian has spent her career securing land, uplifting African American and Indigenous foodways, and building spaces where food history and food futures belong to the people.

A former Culinary Diplomat to the White House and advisor to various national organizations, she brings a rare combination of policy fluency, cultural vision, and pitmaster fire to everything she does.

Adrian joins our second Plate2Plate cohort headed to Ghana this summer, where her lifelong commitment to land, memory, and food sovereignty will find new roots. We are honored to have her at the table.
