"My late husband and I built our lives on love & hustle. We married in 2014 & welcomed 4 beautiful children over the years: our first son, our twin daughters, & our youngest girl,
We didn't come from wealthy backgrounds. We were struggling young adults who got married with a shared vision. We worked incredibly hard: I sold tomatoes at the market, & he worked as a private teacher. Determined to make a better life for our family, I took a friend's advice & presented a plan to my husband. I adviced him & brought an idea that we should raise money so he could travel to South Korea for a job as an English Teacher
I bought into this dream cuz I knew he was a smart, dedicated, & hardworking man. Our dreams eventually came true. He traveled when I was a month pregnant with our last daughter, & thankfully, he secured the job quickly.
My husband was an only child, raised by a single mom who is now elderly & needs care. Because of this, he sent funds directly to me to manage our investments. I diligently completed every project he entrusted to me. I managed the construction of the house we live in, developed 2 rental properties, & established a boutique business to support our children. Our plan was simple: once our youngest turned 4, he would return home, & we would continue our lives as a complete, happy family.
8 months ago, my husband came home. Despite my mother-in-law & my pleas, he insisted on visiting his paternal uncles in the village—the same uncles who allegedly seized his father’s land & property after he passed away when my husband was only 6 years old... After visiting them, my husband returned home that same day & suddenly became ill. Tragically, a few days later, that illness took his life.
Fast forwarded, It's now been 6 months since his burial, & his uncles are still here. Instead of making plans to leave, they are actively inviting other relatives, including their adult children & even grandchildren, to come & join them. No one is discussing that with me
Instead, everyday, I keep coming home to more & more people. We are now 16 people in this house, & frankly, I'm tired. I don't know if this is a cultural obligation or just a painful situation I don't understand. I am draining my savings on food, water, & electricity. They spend their days simply sitting, eating, & just chatting for the past almost going 7 months now...
Please, I need advice. I am struggling to find a way to handle this without causing a major family rift. I need to breathe, I need space, & I need to be able to grieve my husband. I am completely overcrowded, & i don't know what to do"
