🌸 HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY 🌸
Today, Naana Kakie Foundation celebrates all mothers, guardians, and women whose love, sacrifices, and strength continue to shape families and communities.
Mothers are the first teachers, caregivers, protectors, and pillars of society. Your dedication, guidance, and resilience inspire generations and help build a better future for every child.
As we honour mothers today, we also encourage all women to prioritise their health and wellbeing. Let us continue to create awareness on HIV/AIDS, support one another without stigma, and promote healthy living for stronger families and communities.
To every mother and mother figure, thank you for your endless love, care, and sacrifices.
💜 Happy Mother’s Day from Naana Kakie Foundation

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY MESSAGE 🌸
From Naana Kakie Foundation
Today, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and achievements of women and girls across the world. Women continue to shape families, lead communities, and inspire generations with courage and determination.
At Naana Kakie Foundation, we strongly believe that empowering the girl child through education, health awareness, and mentorship is key to building a stronger and healthier society.
As we celebrate women today, we also remind everyone of the importance of protecting the health and future of girls and young women. HIV/AIDS continues to affect many women and girls, making education, awareness, testing, and responsible choices extremely important.
We encourage every woman and young girl to:
âś” Know her HIV status
âś” Protect herself through informed decisions
âś” Support others living with HIV without stigma
âś” Continue to pursue education, leadership, and personal growth
When girls are informed, confident, and protected, they grow into women who transform communities and inspire positive change.
Let us continue to empower women, educate girls, and work together toward a healthier and HIV-free generation.
Happy International Women’s Day to all women and girls around the world.

HIV FACT CHECK — LET’S STAY INFORMED

A very important question has been circulating:
❓ “If HIV and AIDS is really caused by s*xual in*******se, how did the first person get it?”.

✅ HIV is caused by a virus — not by s*x itself.
Scientific evidence shows that HIV originated from animals (specifically primates) and crossed into humans many decades ago. This process is known as zoonotic transmission.
Researchers believe this likely happened in Central Africa in the early 1900s when humans hunted or handled infected animals and the virus entered the body through cuts or wounds. Over time, the virus adapted to humans and spread silently long before it was discovered in 1983.
⚠️ Today, HIV spreads through infected body fluids, mainly through: • Unprotected s*xual in*******se
• Sharing contaminated needles
• Mother-to-child transmission during pregnancy, birth, or breastfeeding
• Unsafe blood exposure

🚨 Key message:
The origin of HIV was animal-to-human transmission — but its continued spread today is largely driven by unsafe practices.

❤️ As we continue our awareness drive, Naana Kakie Foundation urges everyone to:
✔️ Know your HIV status
✔️ Practice safe and responsible behaviour
✔️ Avoid sharing needles or sharp objects
✔️ Fight stigma — support, don’t discriminate

Together, through knowledge and responsible choices, we can build an HIV-free generation.
