FarmFresh Hellas is a family-run company, that started its activity in Dendrochori, Trikala, Greece back in 2009, by locally producing and selling agricultural products. The farm is comprised of 3 innovative and modern greenhouses, which are cultivated using hydroponic methods in a climate-controlled environment. The applied hydroponic method is the NFT, which does not require any growth media and
is operated in a closed circuit, thus conserving substantial amounts of water and nutrients, without any being lost in the ground. By following the code of Good Agricultural Practice and by using only the perfectly calculated amounts of approved fertilizers, certified tomatoes, peppers (Global Gap Version 5.0-2) and salads are produced. Our vegetables, because of the cultivation method, are characterized by superior quality, flavor, healthier nutrient content and better look-and-feel compared to conventional outdoor farming output. In our greenhouses, 7 different varieties of peppers and tomato species are grown. Tomato pollination is being done organically by bumblebees. In the netted area, 5 kinds of lettuce and salads are produced. The company is employing permanent and seasonal workers, providing work opportunities in a region that suffers from high unemployment. As FarmFresh Hellas will expand its operation, we will provide more work opportunities.
