Dictamus
The most sacred sacrifices of the Minoans to their gods consisted of dictamus and olive oil. Dictamus, a unique kind of species only found in Crete, is the king of Cretan herbs with several healing properties. For thousands of years since Minoan times, it has been used as a healing herb but also as a
remedy; even the Greek goddess of beauty and love, Aphrodite used the Dictamus of Crete! Hippocrates, the forefather of medicine, prescribed plant cures to aid all manner of ailments and considered Dictamus of Crete useful for stomach aches and complaints of the digestive system and as a poultice for healing wounds, as well as inducing menstruation.
Dictamus has antibacterial, antifungal and antimicrobial properties due to the phenol carvacrol. It has been used as anantirheumatic, oxytocic, stomachic and vulnerary. On the Island of Crete it is considered as a "miracle cure all" local remedy for almost everything. It is a herb with a wonderful fragrance for a toning tea, hot or cold. Make a hot infusion and add honey and a few drops of propolis
to prevent flue and throat irritation.

Tincture of propolis :30%
Propolis, is a compound word that derives its meaning from the Greek words "pro" and "polis", which translate as 'before the city'. The bees usually place propolis at the entrance of their hive in order to protect from any kind of invasion. It is said that a thin layer of propolis literally covers the entire hive in the interior and protects the colony from viruses and bacteria. The beehive is the most sterile environment in nature and this is due to propolis. The essence of its antibacterial action which is equivalent to antibiotics is based on the several flavonoids and concentrations of aromatic molecules, which are propoli's important components. Propolis has local anesthetic characteristics thanks to its essential oils. It heals wounds and helps to regenerate tissue in second-degree burns, eczema, etc. Furthermore Propolis is effective in maintaining the health of the oral cavity in the form of solution. It can also be used as a remedy for colds, sore throats, gastroenteritis and colitis. All types of propolis
have the capacity to activate the immune system.
PROPERTIES OF PROPOLIS:Antibacterial. Anitvirus. Antifungal, Healing action. Antiflamation.

BEE PRODUCTS
A great deal of archeological findings in Crete, depict the evolution of the bee-keeping in Minoan Crete and justify the extended use of bee products such as wax, propolis and honey, both for nutrition
and
healing
purposes.

Thyme Honey from Sitia
During summertime, July and August, at the extensively wild and uncultivated land of Sitia region, only Thyme blossoms. So bees harvest Thyme to produce a honey with a characteristically strong Thyme taste and aroma and high nutritional value.
Honey, which is the main product of the hive, was used traditionally for its nutritional, medicinal and spiritual properties.
Honey has a variety of therapeutic effects in all human body systems: immune, respiratory and
digestive one. It can also heal the skin from normal, infected wounds or burn.

Respect and love for nature...
The greater contribution of honey bees in nature is the pollination of plants. Bees fertilize 80% of the plants we eat. Unfortunately, pesticides kill bees as well, and if the honey bees disappear we only have four years of life on Earth, as A. Einstein said.
By supporting biological natural products, we support nature's cycle and our own survival.

EXTRA OLIVE OIL
from Sitia Crete is designated as PDO (Protected Destination of Origin). One of the most awarded olive oil in the world. The temperate climate at Sitia region, extensive sunlight and relatively stable temperatures enhance the olive oil 's organoleptic characteristics leading to the finest olive oil quality.
This extra virgin olive oil produced by the method of cold extraction at low temperature (less than 27C -80.6 f) entirely by mechanical means without the use of solvents. The region, the cultivation of the Greek Koroneíki variety, and the cold extraction production method result to an extra virgin olive oil of fruity and rather spicy flavor, subtle aroma and the taste of fresh green olives.
cidity will not exceed 0.3%.
The cultivation of olive trees in Crete from 6000 BC is the most important element of Cretan- Mediterranean diet that recent studies confirm its multiple and numerous beneficial properties
