Welcome to Makris Farm, a small agricultural business, situated in the heart of the fertile Thessaly plain. Our basic principle, in regard to the way of cultivating, is to refrain from using chemical fertilizers, so as to produce the safest possible foods, while protecting the environment and ensuring our clients’ health as well as our own. The seeds we use belong to traditional varieties and they
are not hybrids. Each year we select seeds from the plants that proved to be the most adaptable to the local conditions. In order to achieve the highest quality, the picking and sorting of our products is by hand. The most optimal agricultural conditions for each plant in the countryside depend on the given climatic characteristics of the region. This means that large quantities of our products are collected and ultimately supplied fresh within a short period of time. Traditional ways of maintaining our products with the view to rendering them fit for consumption the whole year round are: (a) the desiccation under the sun and (b) production of pickled products. These are the methods of maintenance we chose so you can enjoy our products throughout the year. The flavours of our products bring back memories from the past because we managed to keep the recipes, the varieties of the seeds and the agricultural methods, inalterable.
