Charlene's Pantry is Committed to Social Impact
At Charlene's Pantry, social impact is a core value that defines who we are andthe principle driving our business practices.
Each month, we proudly donate 280 bags of 2KG rice to the St. James Settlement Food Bank in Ngau Tau Kok. This our 10tth month in our annual Rice Donation Program.
We are looking for other like minded corporates and private donors to come along side us and help grow this program as the needs far outweighs the resources avaliable.
Charlene's Pantry contributes a little over half a tonne of rice to low-income families across Hong Kong, in collaboration with St. James Settlement Food Bank and their on-the-ground partners. This grassroot network of NGOs plays a vital role in providing food relief in conjunction with the Hong Kong Social Welfare Department to varified low income fmailies and recipients.
St. James Settlement has been a valued partner for over 10 years.
Throughout the years, we've engaged in various projects addressing natural income gap needs, responding to the challenges posed by COVID and medical supply shortages across Hong Kong, and most recently, supporting those affected by the fires in Tai Po by providing our space for donation collections throughout the city.
For over 12 years, we have had the privilege of partnering with Liu Hing Hop to purchase rice at wholesale prices, repackaging them into smaller 2KG bags for our elderly recipients.
This year, we aspire to expand our social impact footprint. We will be inviting corporate partnes and private donors to help us in purchasing larger volumes of rice for families in need. All donations will be directed to Liu Hing Hop for the rice purchase, ensuring that all funds strictly bypass Charlene's Pantry. Donors can ear mark any amount for donations and the team at Liu Hing Hop will split that into a monthly number of bags for donations.
