原名順興時菜是由陳見開先生(陳袁輝先生先父)經營在1948年開始經營售賣蔬菜，直至1958年遷入油麻地街市即陳輝記現址。再由陳袁輝先生在 1976年創立現在陳輝記，成立至今已超過30年經營蔬菜批發經驗。

　

在2009年擴充營業賣有機蔬菜，因為近年人們都要求健康蔬菜供應，陳輝記給西九龍市民較容易購買新鮮本地有機蔬菜。

　

在2010年香港有機資源中心和香港浸會大學調查，全港有售賣有機認證蔬菜菜檔有12間而陳輝記是其中一間。
