This small place in inner peninsula keeps attracting more and more people, particularly since Mr Giancarlo Zigante found the biggest known truffle in the world, which weighted 1.310 kg and entered the Guinness book of record

Nowadays, the truffle holds an irreplaceable position in world gastronomy and the best world restaurants rely on its simplicity and powerful attractiveness in creating their menus. But how many of them could boast with the fact that this precious mushroom grows in the untouched nature just outside their courtyard? Restaurant Zigante in Livade in Istria is surely one of the rare. It is the first restaurant in Croatia specialised in the Istrian truffle based menu. During the entire calendar year, it offers a unique, carefully designed menu. Further, Restaurant Zigante is famous for its rich selection of both domestic and foreign wines. our chefs and sommeliers, is internationally recognised for its work. Among many other flattering titles, the restaurant received the first place award in 2005 in the category of „Good Croatian Restaurants“. Besides the undoubtedly globally unique menu, the possibility of organising private and business lunches, dinners and tastings, we also offer accommodation in our luxurious rooms. Situated in the refurbished Istrian stone house just next to the Restaurant Zigante, these four stars modern rooms are the right choice for every gourmet who appreciates complete relaxation that a typical rural Istrian place can offer.
